Full-bodied for a scotch ale. I like scotch ales but I much prefer this big, woody version. Malt forward with a bit of malty sweetness. Complemented nicely by the wood aging.

So good considering the price. Great balance of sweetness. Slight barrel presence. A bit non descriptive but not in a bad way since I love barleywines/old ales/stock ales.

Reminds me of dancing the tango with Alex M. in Grand Rapids.

Getting less complexity in this batch. Not as much Carmel butterscotch notes. A little more bitter

This barrel aged Scotch ale is likely my favorite beer in the world. Caramel, oak, Scotch & bourbon flavors perfectly done. We need more barrel aged Scotch ales around, because they don’t get much better than this.

Wow. Harsh. Hopefully after a bottle, the rest go down eadier.

Enough sweetness to contract the dark beer taste. Wonderful.

Beige foam op een kastanjebruin bier. Whisky, salmiak, hout geur. Zacht bittere start, vanille, karamel, melkchocolade, bourbon, hout, rookachtig, spoortje zoethout, iets bittere nadronk. Lekker, lijkt op barley wine.
