A lot going on here... ginger, caramel, cinnamon, bourbon, etc... It's like a bunch of different types of Christmas cookies all mixed together with a side of bourbon on the rocks! It's a really nice sweet treat for Christmas! đ đť

This was a rare miss from founders something off about the taste

Somethingâs missing. Not up to my standards from Founders, who is pretty reliable with good beers

Nice barleywine ale a bit cluttered with spice - golden amber malty rich ale with a pleasant not overpowering hop level has a nice ginger aroma but the cinnamon and clove can be a bit sharp particularly on the back of the throat

I prefer my Barleywine like I like my women....Aged, Dark, with a little burn on the backend. This pastriochroty is a barrel full of meh, with heaps of spices. I'll age one and see if it's not worth flushing in a few months.

Founder's has set a bar for their high ABV beers. They have a baseline of 4.0. This Barleywine is no exception and the flavor is just the holidays wrapped up in a bottle.

Lots of ginger! Tastes like Christmas. Definitley has the holiday spices. #PureMichigan

Great barleywine but a little too sweet for me - almost a dessert!

Oh boy this is a rough one! Weird before, during and after taste. Has a medical taste. ďżź

I had higher hopes for this. Saw BA barleywine and bought it. Reminds me of some of the over spiced âyam beersâ little medicinal. Iâll keep sipping and hope for a Christmas miracle đťđ¤

Very forward boozy which most barrel aged have, which I personally like. This has a great spice taste all the way through.

Didnât read the packaging closely enough. Was expecting a stout and not a 12.8% ABV barleywine. Not unhappy, as itâs pretty tasty and drinks way too easily.

Good God, y'all. The mouth feel and flavor profile are like two Olympic level ice skaters in their harmonious play

Tastes like a womenâs clothing boutique scented candle

Zero barleywine character. I would have guessed an imperial spiced ale because spice (ginger, cinnamon, clove) is what dominates in flavor. Despite being sweet and bearing little resemblance to a barleywine, it is not awful but definitely not recommended.

Worst founders beer Iâve had. Tastes like a horrible bourbon mixed with a horrible ginger ale. Probably being generous with the rating

If I was a whiskey drinker, this may be more appealing. Still great tasting, however!

Nice spiced ale, spices feel like a mix of eggnog and ginger snaps

Didnât taste much like barleywine or bourbon, but I donât care because itâs a delightful, festive beverage. The ginger and cinnamon bring a little spicy heat. Ginger, cinnamon, cookie, vanilla, clove, oak, hints of whiskey, butterscotch and toffee.

Not overpowering like most high gravity beers, feels like a regular Christmas beer but the abv hits you later.

Balanced spices with a ginger that is a touch overpowering.

Super heavy ginger, a little bitter, a little sweet.
