Drank this 12.8% ABV brew a few weeks back and again last night. First time was a 4.25 rating. Now a 3.75. Probably because of all those other brews before this. š

So much better in bottle imo than draft. Not as overpowering with seasoning.

Not overpowering like most high gravity beers, feels like a regular Christmas beer but the abv hits you later.

Nice barleywine ale a bit cluttered with spice - golden amber malty rich ale with a pleasant not overpowering hop level has a nice ginger aroma but the cinnamon and clove can be a bit sharp particularly on the back of the throat

Somethingās missing. Not up to my standards from Founders, who is pretty reliable with good beers

Too much ginger for me. Would like a barrel aged barley wine from founders without the ginger and spice

Whoa.... It's like drinking ginger snap cookie dough that's been aged in a barrel! Boozy and full flavored without being thick and hard to drink. Very sweet, but it fits with the flavor profile. Good beer for this time of year.

Day 23. Bit of a miss for me, boozy and lots of barrel oak flavor

Definite ginger and a little clove on the nose. Clove and cinnamon come through well in the taste. Between that and the booziness itās definitely a warming beer. Spice flavor tends to dominate though. Ends up like a clove beer w/ some sweetness.

Be sure to share this one. 6oz at a time is all youāll need or want. Deliciously spicy and full of Christmas spirit.

Gotta be in the right mood for this one. I like barleywines, but this one is a different level
