More coffee flavor and aroma than standard KBS, but I think it obscures the barrel-aging. Might benefit from aging for a while.

P: dark coffee, good carbo, low retention. S: chocolaty cacao and coffee. T: strong espresso, with a dry finish. The dry finish, along with the carbo, give it a spicy tingly mouthfeel. Interesting for a stout that tastes exactly like its title.

Not bad. A little thin for the style but overall decent.

A lot of coffee but it's supposed to be, like the chocolate and bourbon flavors a lot.

Founders tasting #3 Rich, boozy front, a note of sweetness (chocolate?) with a lot of coffee on the back end. Like BS but more substantial, with a shot dropped in it. Roastier as it warmed.

Disjointed. The flavors are there, just not balanced. Bit too bitter from the espresso.

Was hoping for more chocolate. An Oreo dunked in this would probably be really good!

The 21 wins hands down! It’s been refrigerated all the time so it’s as close to original as possible. Very similar beers, but I expect much more chocolate from this years and simply don’t get it.
