Pennsylvania Tuxedo

Pale Ale - American

A spruce-infused pale ale, Pennsylvania Tuxedo pays homage to the flannel-suited hunters and gatherers who dwell deep in the backcountry of north-central PA. This sessionable concoction has a grassy citrus kick complemented by the resinous conifer notes of fresh green spruce tips. A dry yet doughy malt backbone lets the hops and spruce shine while still balancing out the bitterness, making this one an easy drinking ale rich with the aroma of Paul Bunyan's cologne.

Seeing as I'm now living in PA, made sense to finally try this. Glad I did, this is tasty.

What a better brew to have to celebrate the tail-end of winter -- think spruce trees and snow -- and Leap Day (Off-Centered, anyone)? This DFH brew spoke to me. And, of course, the beer is delicious!

First the Pittsburgh toilet, now the Pennsylvania Tuxedo. It is rather good. Slightly sweet, infused with spruce, but not overwhelming.

This is still a quintessential piney IPA. Just the thing I needed after wrestling with tech issues this afternoon. Happy Friday!

Dark amber pour. Scattered white lace. Somewhat medicinal earthy spruce and Listerine nose. Mint and abuse. Very interesting. Same notes flow into the flavor. A tiny bit of burn as it fades. Ginger?

This was exceptional when I first tasted it. Not sure how it came up missing from my reviews. If Dogfish would be so kind as to make a fresh batch I guarantee it will not go to waste! Please??!! Cheers Yinz!
