Raison D'Extra

Belgian Strong Dark Ale

A bigger, bolder version of our Raison D'Etre. This is a bulbous brown ale brewed with a bunch of malt, brown sugar and raisins.

Sweet and boozy. I bought two so the second will be going in the beer cellar collection. Extremely good.

Oh lord. 16.5%. This'll hurt tomorrow morning. Pretty alright otherwise, oatmeal raisin cookie smell and taste up front but finishes stongly tasting of alcohol.

Oh this is good. Sweetness from the raisins, love it. It’s a Dogfish Head night!

Unexpectedly high ABV. Pleasantly surprised easy-drinker.

This one is our designated bad decision beer, and it is delicious. Sweet, raisiny, boozy, kinda Belgian.

You can definitely taste the raisins! Love the strong beer (don’t drink on an empty stomach), just a little too sweet to make it a 5.

A good brew, but given its strength, it could use some more body.

2014 November 21st. Thanks Chicago C. Smells like Feigling. Tatest like molasses, raisins, and something your cousin brought out in a Mason jar in winter.

Bottled 12/18. Almost 2 years of aging gives it a creamier mouthfeel with less burn on the finish. Mmmm. Yummy.

Probably the best malty flavored beer in the history of the world. Also, I got drunk just looking at it.
