Siracusa Nera

Stout - Russian Imperial

Combining a roasty Imperial Stout with jammy Syrah wine notes, this beer is bold and complex. Notes of coffee, dark chocolate and anise from a blend of roasted malts meld with flavors of plums, cherries and stewed fruits from Syrah grape must in this jet black stout. Aged on American oak to add some light toasty vanilla to the mix.

Wow,really interesting brew here. Malty nose, leads to rich roasted flavor with wine/alcohol taste hiding almost subtly in the back before taking charge. Not much head but what is there sticks to the sides and keeps an almost yeasty bubbling going on.

Lost track of how long this has been aging, at least pre COVID. It was worth the wait

Good wine aged stout. Recommend a try. More a coffee bourbon stout.

Thick velvety mouth feel, taste of coffee stout meets a jammy wine lots of oak on the finish. It has layers upon layers. This is not the perfect beer. But it may be the perfect stout. It can be stupid expensive when you find it, but give it a try.

4 years and the slight tart and red wine taste is gone. Just mellow now.

Rich and dark, interesting savory/tangy notes, plus a really groovy hint of wine tannins...Nice lusciousness...Nice long finish. Thanks Dan!

I was really excited about this one. It's got a killer nose but the sum is less than it's parts. The toasty and jammy notes clash rather than harmonize. I don't think the four years since bottling has done it any favors.

Dark chocolate and red wine flavors with oaky and floral notes. Dry finish. Chocolate wine aroma with a light lace. Dark brown color with a heavy body. Bought in 2019.
