Siracusa Nera

Stout - Russian Imperial

Combining a roasty Imperial Stout with jammy Syrah wine notes, this beer is bold and complex. Notes of coffee, dark chocolate and anise from a blend of roasted malts meld with flavors of plums, cherries and stewed fruits from Syrah grape must in this jet black stout. Aged on American oak to add some light toasty vanilla to the mix.

Jonathan N. Says the nose is like Welch's aged in oak barrels...and I agree. Mouthful of sweet juice with a surprisingly bright and vibrant body. Finish is a lingering essence of grape skin and it is not normal. Wow.

Last of the four pack. Aged five years. Not bad but not doing much for me. Might have lost whatever shine it may have had.

Feel like this should have also been checked in already. Maybe the 10% made me forget. Don't need again but not bad

After these of aging it still has its wine kick to it. DFH doesn't disappoint!

At a stout share bonfire. Tastes like sour grapes and molasses. Very old.

2017 release apparently. Been cellaring for a while. Delightfully smooth, subtle vanilla and other oak notes, a little whiff of smoke that I don't remember being there before but it works with the dark jammy fruits. Lovely business

1st had from my 4 pack in 2017. Let this warm! 7 yrs later & still a good brew w/ the Syrah wine grape dominating a bit over the RIS (55/45). Still an unique taste when fresh. Aging nicely but will drink my last (must of shared one 😁) sooner than later.
