Black Tag

Stout - Imperial / Double

Like the special, low-numbered license plates seen throughout our home state of Delaware, Black Tag is a singular ale of great depth ... and it's as special as it gets! Brewed by co-workers Ryan, Corey and Bryan, this decadent imperial stout is brewed from massive amounts of dark grains with generous additions of toasted coconut, dehydrated coconut powder and Tanzanian cocoa powder.

Odd. The last time I had this it was oddly grassy. His is more traditional with slight notes of coconut . Nice work Bryan, Ryan, and Corey.

Much better than I recall--less roast, more flavor (coconut) but not too sweet

Dang, live music at DFH in Rehoboth. A bold bitter imp stout, lots going on here dominated by roasty malts and cocoa powder. It says there's a coconut in there, but it's hard to detect. Makes you forget its 9%.

More roasty than malty, a touch sweet, not too much coconut.

Roasted malt on the nose with a deep tan head. Inky brown colour with a pronounced bitterness. Cocoa may be contributing to that. Coconut is faint. Coffee is a note, too. Blindly, I would tagged this a porter. Still, this is a nice brew.
