Been a while since I’ve had this but always liked it a lot. Took advantage and snagged an old 9/23/14 bottle at BC recently - held up great. Smooth, nose and palate full of dates/figs and some woody sweetness. You can taste the age but not quite oxidized.

What kind of a dumbass sits on a beer like this for 6 years? This one. Not bad though.

The nose is sweet, boozy, with a hint of smoke. The flavor starts sweet (brown sugar), the a big dark chocolate flavor rolls in and gets pulled into the smokey wood. It’s boozy throughout but so smooth. The catch is where it all lands. Sumptuous & sexy!

Picked up this bottle at the Dogfish Head Pub in Rehoboth Beach. It’s always been one of my favorites. ❤️

So glad I found some. Got this 4-pack of 2014 from a local shop’s cellar. Worth the hunt. Lovely aged beer. Deep, dark brown. Barely a trace of age. Wood, a bit of smoke, and rich smooth earthy spiciness and sweetness, and vanilla.
