Quartered & Chunked

IPA - Imperial / Double New England / Hazy

We based this hazy IPA on the indigenous Latin American beverage made from fermented pineapple skins sweetened with raw Mexican brown sugar. A blend of wheat & oat malts was fermented with pineapple puree & juice plus a touch of piloncillo sugar. In the midst of fermentation a healthy dry hop of pineapple-centric hop varieties was added for all the pineapple goodness.

Pineapple aroma. Hazy yellow color, frothy white head. Milky pineapple flavor with raw fruit astringency. Sweetly grassy finish.

I agree with Mac F. Not sweet at all and with just enough true pineapple flavor.

Fruity, hint of saltiness, hops hit me hard at first, but mellowed on the finish. [sip]
