Olde School

Barleywine - American

Bold, yet smooth! Fermented with dates and figs, this bone-crusher has a completely unique flavor. At 15% abv, this beer is a great candidate for ageing. Over time, the beer dries out and the pit fruit flavors come forward and the hops recede.

I won this beer & have had it in the back of my fridge for years... 15% ABV... wow! Boozy & sweet. Definite fig taste. Interesting. Not something I could drink a lot of oe often but quite good.

Take some plums, soak them in alcohol for a month or so, liquefy them and drink at your own risk. That's essentially what this is. I likes em. Strong so this is my kind of booze..err beer 😄

Aged 4 years. Traditional barleywine aroma and flavors with hints of fig. Relatively smooth. Flavor profile has changed slightly to favor figs.

May have had this too long or it was stored wrong where purchased because this has been better. Unique and great.

2011 Bottle. Not going to rate this, but at 11 years old it's definitely a winner. Sad that so many of these classic beers of the second wave of craft beer have been cast aside for garbage lazy hazy and cheap sours.

Funny to read my review of drinking this beer fresh in 2017 versus my opinion of drinking it now at 4 years old. It's not gross anymore. Now it's figs, prunes and alcohol!

No idea on the date, but it’s old. Sticky sweet,,tons of fig / plum notes. No discernible hops. It’s a supper, great for this winter Springtime night.

Boozy with molasses, fig and dried fruit flavors. So intense, it's undrinkable. May be better when cold.
