Fort

Strong Ale - American

A strong ale brewed with a ridiculous amount of pureed raspberries (over a ton of em!). Fort is an excellent candidate for cellaring and is a great food beer — especially with chocolate or duck.

Bottled 10/23/15. Can still taste the raspberry. And damn, still strong AF.

Just a teeny half shot glass. Wow. Tasty but so boozy.

Says discountined but I can't find a date. Very smooth with lovely raspberry taste. Not overbearing and not sour tart. Reminiscent of a Belgian strong ale but with fruit.

Aged 6 years. Aged a bit too long. The beer started to turn, but had a nice raspberry aroma and flavor to it yet.

L: Dark amber color w/ thin lacing S: Brown sugar, fig T: fig, molasses F: thick O: 90. Great beer, but feel DFH could’ve done better to highlight the raspberries which were pretty much non-existent here. Tasted like every other Strong Ale I’ve had.

Pours a pretty clear glowing reddish color with a fast-fizzling-away white head. Aroma is divine, well done for a fruit beer. In the mouth: cough syrup, even in the finish. An almost cheek-puckering experience, an effervescent amazement.

From 2015 I think? A little past due I’d say. Still not as bad as I thought it would be. Terrifying amount of sediment. Pairs well with Purple Rain 🤴🏿

I was prepared to dump it ( since John May used it as weed killer 4 years ago) but it grew on me. Kind of like drinking Boones Farm only boiled down. Still tasting raspberries behind the booze Thanks Johnmay

Boozy and raspberry, reminds me of a cross between sherry and port. Good for sipping after dinner with an espresso, but even 6 ounces is too much for me. Love trying new styles, thanks Dana and Eric

Has definitely aged a bit… much darker now than the old 2016 pics. Resembles a barley wine now. Can still taste the raspberries though. Not especially sour.
