Pleasantly surprised. I usually dont like the off-putting “cat piss” smell of mango. But this brew has a sweeter mango foavor. The smell is still a little odd, but the brew is drinkable.

Surprisingly low pineapple flavor. I mostly just get the gose saltiness and very slight tartness

Has definitely aged a bit… much darker now than the old 2016 pics. Resembles a barley wine now. Can still taste the raspberries though. Not especially sour.

Backwoods Bastard (2015) Redner

I bit old, but seems to have held up decently compared to other years I’ve had. The bottle is a little dirty from storage… so technically this could be considered an “ol dirty bastard” lol

Kentucky Bourbon Stout (KBS) (2021) Redner

Literally been at these f’n leaves all day. Needed something with a little coffee ☕️ 😉. Coffee has mellowed a little and creaminess now shows up more

Kentucky Breakfast Stout (KBS) (2016) 12.4% Redner

This one I at least have a basis for comparison for. It seems it has diminished quite a bit. Coffee is now weak, sweetness has faded, and about all that is left is some bitterness. Probably was good when it was fresh.

Devil Dancer (2014) Redner

Basically at 8 years old this has become a hoppy barleywine (as one of the previous check ins pointed out). Definitely way past it’s prime 😆

Pretty good. I like the regular founder imperial stout, and the barrel aging on this one takes it up a notch. Quite boozy with chocolate as the main adjunct.

Oh fudge!, this is loaded with dark chocolate fudge, still lots of coffee flavor, the maple is very subtle.... I only catch a hint of that 🍁 🍫 ☕️

Big Luscious (2020) Redner

Surprisingly good. I am not usually a fan of fruited stouts, but this is a good one. Perfect balance between the sweet and tart raspberry and overall the fruit is in balance with the rich chocolate & malty stout flavors. Nice job Founders! 👍🏼

This seems to have more coffee, less chocolate and less booze. Just my opinion I guess 🤷🏻‍♂️
