The Steady Glow Of Tended Embers

Strong Ale - American

Weighing in at 7% ABV, The Steady Glow Of Tended Embers is a meditation on the push and pull of sweet and spicy, and savory and smokey. Brewed from an artful blend of crystal, caramel, roasted and smoked malts, this strong amber ale carries the scent of cherry wood barbeque embers intertwined with the pungent, fruity spice of Zanzibar peppercorn and earthy noble hops for an elegant sip of comfort and satisfaction.

Dark yet clean with a nice smoke. Begs for a campfire.

Tasty Doppelbock if a little overboard with the roast. Nice maltiness, good smoothness.

I was not expecting the bitter note in this but it was still a solid brew. 🍻

Note for anyone headed to Dogfish Head. The Milton brewery exclusives are growler only.I'm really glad I went to the Rehoboth Beach EmPOURium because my Delaware beer trip wouldn't have provided much. Malty and smoky. Not spicy.

Great brew. Good nose, leaves your palat dancing for a moment. Smoky pecans and clove, black plum. This impressed me. Don't call it lager in ale's clothing. Rich enough to pair with BBQ or a loaded burger.
