KBS Blueberry Zalewa

Different with the blueberry flavor. Bottled 11 July 2023. The thick booming stout flavor is hidden in the background while the mild blueberry juice sits at the front of mouth taste. Dangerously easy to drink. Nice.

Canadian Breakfast Stout (CBS) (2023) Zalewa

Mildly sweet and tasty. Very nice.

Dirty Bastard (2023) Zalewa

You dirty bastard. Big malt flavor with hints of piney hops in the finish.

KBS Maple Mackinac Fudge (2020) Zalewa

Go Cards. 1st bowl game in a while. Opening my last fudge bottle from 10-27-2020. Fudge flavor is back. Along with a bigger coffee note. Maple flavor has dissipated but it’s aged well and become very smooth.

The Cranfather Zalewa

Interesting. Feels like I’m drinking a cranberry juice cocktail with some high quality vodka. Can taste the alcohol and the medium cranberry tartness but with just enough sweetness to make it enjoyable. A great thanksgiving drink.

Punkin Ale (2023) Zalewa

So yammy. The fall favorite. Feels a little thicker than previous years. One of the better versions in a while. Good pumpkin flavor with the subtle spice notes.

Beer Geek Flat White Zalewa

A good couple years old. A little watery feel but noticeable coffee and milk/lactose tastes. Alright for its age.

KBS Cinnamon Vanilla Cocoa Zalewa

Bottled 03 Sept 2021. Flavors MUCH more balanced with aging. The cinnamon, vanilla and cocoa flavors are all there but are very well mixed together. It’s much better after aging over a year and a half. Alcohol is muted. It good.

Mango Magnifico Zalewa

A nice mango and harbonaro pepper mix. Subtly sweet and subtle spicy heat. Nice.

Utopias Barrel-Aged World Wide Stout (2020) Zalewa

It boozy. But good.

KBS Hazelnut Zalewa

Bottled 26 Jan 2022. She hazelnut alright. Tastes tingey. A coffee roast finish. Stout notes are lost in the hazelnut flavor. Hopefully will be better with aging. Not their best version.

World Wide Stout (2019) Zalewa

Bottled 09 May 2019. Thick taste. A dark strong roasty malt flavor. Smokey. Notes of a licorice taste. Although the strong roasted malt flavor masks the alcohol taste, it feels strong and boozy. It’s still good though.

KBS Maple Mackinac Fudge (2020) Zalewa

Bottled 27 Oct 2020. Alcohol is more pronounced. Coffee notes. The fudge and maple syrup notes have dissipated though. Tastes more of a drier normal KBS. Okay but the fudge flavor hasn’t aged with it.

Where the Wild Hops Are Zalewa

A light hoppy ipa. Easy drinking. Reminds me of a field of blooming flowers. A nice balanced mild ipa.

Frootwood (2022) Zalewa

A little syrupy. Mix of cherry , vanilla and oak barrel notes. Nice

Utopias Barrel - Aged World Wide Stout (2021) Zalewa

A sweet alcoholic smell. Like sipping on a well aged smooth scotch with a background hint of the malty stout flavor. Incredibly smooth. If this is as close to tasting Utopia as I can get then WOW. Normal WWS is good. This is GREAT. Happy New Year

Bottle Shop Series Highball Drifter Zalewa

Bottled 7/7/21. A mildly sweet strong ale with those vanilla and brown sugar notes. Remindable of an old fashioned with the barrel aged notes. A nice sipper.

KBS Espresso (2021) Zalewa

Bottled 10 sep 2021. Like previous editions, heavy on the coffee taste. She good.

KBS Cinnamon Vanilla Cocoa Zalewa

Plenty of cinnamon and vanilla up front. A little overwhelming at first. Can feel the alcohol taste. Flavors seem a little unbalanced. For being bottled in sept 2021, this would probably benefit from some aging. Not getting much cocoa flavor.

Punkin Ale 2021 Zalewa

The perennial seasonal. A little too much cinnamon this year. Still okay and drinkable but a little light on the pumpkin taste.

Velvet Rush Zalewa

Bottled 7/29/21. Interesting taste. A lot to take in. Can taste the vanilla and creamy milk sugar notes. With a good mix of barrel aged smokiness and a decent alcohol tinge. Complex but good. Almost like a fine whiskey with less bite.

Nemesis (2021) Zalewa

Malty. Nice and thick with a mild bitter finish. A hoppy Belgian ale. Nice.

Panther Cub (2021) Zalewa

A subtle sweet smell. A nice mild sweet porter taste. Can taste the mild mix of vanilla and maple syrup. A little tingy on the carbonation but a nice oak barrel finish. It’s good.

KBS Espresso Zalewa

Bottled 20 Oct 2020. Strong espresso coffee flavor leads to mixed finish of bitter coffee, slightly sweet stout and alcohol. Leads to a joyful confusion of whether this is coffee or beer. Nice take on the normal KBS.

Underground Mountain Brown (2020) Zalewa

Has some subtle baking cocoa notes. Nice bourbon barrel flavor. An overall very tasty brown ale.

Kentucky Breakfast Stout (KBS) (2020) Zalewa

Tasty. Strong coffee flavor.

Big Luscious (2020) Zalewa

Chocolate covered raspberries is spot on taste. Sweet but mild raspberry tartness. A nice dessert beer.

KBS Maple Mackinac Fudge Zalewa

A spicy fudge coffee. More coffee bitterness than expected. A subtle sweetness is way in the background. Bottled 10/27/20. Curious to see how it ages and flavors meld. Still has the oak aged feel. Flavors still abrupt and needs aging.

Underground Mountain Brown Zalewa

A nice light brown ale with a good coffee and oaky alcohol flavor. I like this one. Not heavy sitting but plenty of flavor.
