World Wide Stout (2019)

Stout - Imperial / Double

Brewed with a ridiculous amount of barley, World Wide Stout is dark, rich, roasty and complex. This ageable ale clocks in at 15-20% ABV and has a depth more in line with a fine port than with a can of cheap, mass-marketed beer.

Seems like about 5 years might be the sweet spot for aging these beers, non-BA versions anyway. This is complex and delicious with almost no detectable booziness.

Ages well is an understatement! Layers upon layers of dark fruits, cinnamon clove, chocolate bark and raisin bread exploding into sweet caramel chews. So much cherry and it is very port-like at 5 years of age. Booziness is almost completely gone. Stellar

Found the remaining three of a four pack I bought five years ago in the basement. The label says “Ages Well”. I would agree.

Very nice! BIG dried dark fruit dominates from the start & throughout, w/ merlot, cocoa powder, dried apricot, pomegranate, plum, raisin, dark cherry, & subtle roast joining mid-palate, understated molasses & pinch of brown sugar late. 4/2019 bottle.

Just phenomenal. Not only is this aged since 2019… but the carbonation is just so good on this. Mellow flavor sharp oak dryness. Best served with water.

Not as sweet for the ABV as expected. The barley notes apparent. Finish with vanilla and cinnamon.

Incredible how well this holds up as a non-BA stout. Aged for close to 5 years, it's smooth as ever but with all the robustness you'd expect from this ABV. Wish I had more!

Wow. Love this one. Tons of coffee and chocolate and boozy AF. Aged 4 years and seems to be nearly perfect, to me. Glad I have a few more of these!

Strong stone fruit and dark fruit flavors. A little acidic with slight vinegar smell.. Like a rich port wine. A would have thought it aged in port barrels. Much different from the 2016, which is better and more chocolate.

Dropping to 4.25 as it as not as good as the 2016 version. More stone fruit less chocolate
