Tasty! Floral, lightly citrusy aged hops lead, w/ BIG caramel, lesser grapefruit & fig, & splash of Sherry mid-taste, & balanced orange marmalade, roasted brown sugar, & resin late. 16.5% ABV absurdly well-concealed. Coating, chewy mouthfeel.

Very nice! BIG dried dark fruit dominates from the start & throughout, w/ merlot, cocoa powder, dried apricot, pomegranate, plum, raisin, dark cherry, & subtle roast joining mid-palate, understated molasses & pinch of brown sugar late. 4/2019 bottle.

NICE! Apple brandy, fig, sharp caramel, & unmistakable booziness lead, w/ sugar-sweetened dried apricot mid-taste, & sherry, vanilla, generous brown sugar, distinct flash of orange & resin, & splash of deeply red wine sticking the finish.

World Wide Stout (2016) T

Dark cherry, pomegranate, caramel, fig, & deep cabernet take the fore, w/ heavy roast & a sprinkle of brown sugar mid-palate, leather & cocoa powder late, & unmistakable soy @aftertaste. Nary a whiff of booze, let alone 18%. Chewy, coating mouthfeel. N/R.

Tasty! Malted milk choc & indistinct dark dried fruit take the fore, w/ big vanilla extract, heavily toasted white sugar, & a dab of caramel mid-taste, & overwhelming marshmallow burying all else late. 16% ABV absurdly well-hidden @5.5 years.

Good stuff! Brilliantly fruity brandy & dried apricots lead, joined by cocoa powder, golden raisins, sherry, deep cab, & a splash of port mid-palate b/f finishing w/ boldly dark cherry- and molasses-forward bourbon. Rummy fruitcake emerges @aftertaste.

Damn nice! Black cherry, fig, burnt toast, burnt brown sugar, pomegranate, & cabernet lead, w/ char, smoke, leather, & baker's cocoa blooming mid-palate & carrying late. Boldly flavorful & alluring. Drinking phenomenally @5 years!

Nice! Supremely fruity cognac leads, followed by notes of dry white wine, dark cherry, toasted brown sugar, milk choc, sherry, bourbon, & golden raisin. Boozy, but w/o the usual WWS abrasiveness & smoother than expected @17.3%. Lightly coating mouthfeel.

Oak-Aged Vanilla World Wide Stout (2017) T

Dark dried fruit, malted choc, & burnt white sugar lead, w/ caramel mid-palate, & subtle but present vanilla extract & a suggestion of marshmallow late. Fruitiness increasingly apparent & moving to the fore w/ age.

KBS Maple Mackinac Fudge (2020) T

Tasty! Nicely balanced fudge, pleasantly bitter high-cocoa dark choc, cold brewed dark roast coffee, & generous vanilla cream lead, followed by a dash of maple, mo’ java, moderate char, sprinkle of brown sugar, & indistinct fruitiness emerging late. 4.4.

Great stuff! Impressively balanced cocoa powder, caramel, moderately burnt brown sugar, leather, & molasses, w/ lesser plum, pomegranate, & dark red wine. Noticeable, pleasant hop bitterness @finish. Delightfully enticing. Amazing just below room temp.

KBS Maple Mackinac Fudge T

Nice! Balanced fudge, baker’s cocoa, & maple lead, followed by a hint of smoke, vanilla, light char, & more maple, & pleasantly bitter espresso blooming late. Bourbon MIA. Fantastic complexity, which really peaks ~room temp.
