Dirty Bastard Barduca

Dark amber-red color w/ a finger light-tan head. Dark roast malt on the nose w/ an earthy side of sweet coffee. Palate adds rough/harsh smoked peat, lending a strong ale feel. Earth and bitter hops linger on the finish. Not a dry beer. Medium mouthfeel.

Mortal Bloom Barduca

Lemon, mango and maybe light grapefruit on the smell. Slight haze, no head. Starts strong but fades rather quickly. A positive is a mild dank note.

World Wide Stout (2019) Barduca

Strong stone fruit and dark fruit flavors. A little acidic with slight vinegar smell.. Like a rich port wine. A would have thought it aged in port barrels. Much different from the 2016, which is better and more chocolate.

World Wide Stout (2016) Barduca

Creamy oat, chocolate and vanilla nose. Boozy. Aged a long while. Tastes more boozy than the nose. Rich! Complex. Killer for a non barrel-aged. Lots of chocolate milk, leaning more cocoa.

Ultimate Oktoberfest Barduca

A year old now. Fresh Motor oil color w a tinge of red. More spiced now a year later and more mellow in the whiskey tones. Malty and sweet. A bit over sweet. Some oak, whiskey notes.

Kentucky Breakfast Stout (KBS) (2014) Barduca

Sweet bourbon and coffee smell. Smooth and not boozy since it’s aged so long. Well balanced for a KBS and not overly sweet like a new bottle. Tannins, Tobacco and oak complexity.

Nitro Oatmeal Stout Barduca

Nitro comes through. Not a lot else. Nutty and coffee. Prefer a Guinness I suppose.

All Day Vacay Barduca

A slight vinegar citrus smell. Dirty gold color. Strong wheat flavor. The citrus is in the back. Not a winner, but a pleaser for the masses.

KBS Cinnamon Vanilla Cocoa Barduca

Bourbon was more pronounced months later and cocoa missing. Cinnamon, nutmeg, spices, , coffee. Flavors do not work all that well together; like a poor Chai. I expected Mexican hot chocolate, ah, no. Baking spices, cinnamon and sweet. Not a worthy buy

KBS Hazelnut Barduca

Nose of sweet maple and faint hazelnut. Taste adds sweet coffee. Is very sweet as all KBS tend to be, but this is more reserved on the sweet than standard. Bit o chocolate also. Very good. Near zero barrel to it.

Dankwood (2018) Barduca

Smells like sweet caramel and rye whiskey staves. Pleasant. Brew is a murky brown color that almost looks like muddy water w/ sediment. Can taste the red…malts& hops, but not much IPA left after aging. But there is hops under the barrel. Mellow aged.

Frootwood (2021) Barduca

The color of cherry seven-up. Smells of oak staves, bourbon and cherry seven-up soda. Tastes quite sweet and like flat cherry seven-up. I suppose the sweet it maple? A lot going on here just not sure is works. A bit too chemical.

Nemesis (2021) Barduca

I would not have thought I have had this beer in the past, and recently too. Seems too different to be a batch lot issue. Sweet and malty nose. Bitter taste with booze. Better taste at room temp., poor chilled honestly. A sipper. A little harsh boozey.

Backwoods Bastard Barduca

Bourbon and caramel on the nose. Heavy bourbon taste with warming down the throat. A bit sweet and malty. The bourbon is very welcome but as a downside other flavors are likely overpowered.

Oktoberfest Barduca

2nd tasting. Better this time ‘round. 1st time had vinegar taste. This time none of that. More traditional Octoberfest tastes of nutmeg and spices. Sweet and malty. Medium body. Good but not a standout in any way despite the claims of German heritage.

Kentucky Breakfast Stout (KBS) (2019) Barduca

Maybe this beer goes DOWN with age. The 2015 was meh, this 2019 is better. Bourbon and coffee nose. Same on taste. Not complex but flavorful.

Passion Pool (2021) Barduca

Smells very much like salty passion fruit. Nose tells you it will be sour too. Palate hits with tart passion fruits and finishes with a sour and salty taste like margarita mix. Not super sour but certainly present so still a quencher for summers.

KBS Maple Mackinac Fudge Barduca

A deep “chocolate” brown pour w/ a dark tan head. Lots of mocha and maple on nose. Taste brings a chocolate-bourbon flavored coffee dessert w/ charred oak on the tip of the tongue. NOT overly sweet but is a dessert beer. Boozy mid & back, hidden alcoh

Canadian Breakfast Stout (CBS) (2019) Barduca

If not for the lacy fingernail head looks like black coffee. Smells of maple & coffee with hints of bourbon. Tastes like sweetened black coffee with a shot of bourbon in it. No harshness or booziness. Delectable! First beer that could pass for morning

Cerise Barduca

Lots of cherries and sweetness. I bit tart with is welcome. Light mouthfeel and easy to toss back if you are not used to beer. Related to the raspberry version but using Michigan cherries, hence the made in Michigan series.

Kentucky Breakfast Stout (KBS) (2019) Barduca

Booze and bourbon with a bit of caramel and chocolate on the nose. Not an overly strong scent. Not overly strong flavor either initial. Each flavor can be picked out and not complex. As it warms to room temp it gets better, builds coffee character.

Nemesis (2021) Barduca

Very enjoyable. Not much of a nose, piney if anything. Dark pour, no head. More of a stout + barleywine. Thin mouthfeel yet still complex. A lot going on with booze and a bitter hit initially. Sweet + roast comes after and more booze. Will buy again

Panther Cub (2021) Barduca

Boozy berries on the nose. Flat with no carbonation. Sickly sweet in the mouth, a combo of both maple and Imitation vanilla. Not a big fan. Ok to taste, but that sweetness fatigues over 2/3 a can. And you hope for the booze to kick in to finish it.
