Canadian Breakfast Stout (CBS) (2018) Simeon
Coffee is in there but it’s not too strong. Amazing. Chocolate and smooth. Bourbon is there but it’s so smooth. Hides the ABV well. I’ve been waiting to try this one for FIVE years. Cheers Pete D.

Ultimate Oktoberfest (2022) Simeon
Bourbon barrel is right there. Great sipper. This has been in the cellar for a few years and it’s still good! Sweet and boozy but not too hard to drink.

Good sipper. Very whisky like and a little harsh but the sweetness comes through.

I actually liked this until I smelled it. It smells like cleaning solution and that dropped me from a 3.75.

Utopias Barrel - Aged World Wide Stout (2021) Simeon
Excellent stout. Has a little licorice taste and malt then chocolate.

I love this one. Barrel aged and even good from the bottle. Draft was a little better but still excellent.

4 Giants Starcatcher Haze Simeon
Sweet and hoppy. I saw this in conjunction with Greta Van Fleet which made me HAVE to try it. That’s a great Led Zeppelin/ Rush band.

2nd from right. Super creamy!! Like cream soda. Be ready for the sweet vanilla. I don’t taste coffee or chocolate and that’s just fine by me.

Kim thinks this should be served in a mule glass to make the drink pop. It’s pretty spicy and not sweet like a mule should be.

Granger scale is still spot on. It’s not a 3.5, but not quite a 4.0. It’s very good and one of the better session beers I’ve had. I’m gonna give it the 4.0 because it’s fresh tasting and easy drinker.

Backwoods Bastard (2023) Simeon
Haven’t had this for awhile. Excellent beer for a standard beer to buy anywhere. Excellent Scottish ale.

Ok. So this has a ton of coffee but the overall score is so high. Had to try again. It’s way better than a 3.5. Not sure what I was thinking during Covid. 🔥🔥🔥

Coffee is very subtle which is great for me. Smooth and not too boozy. The hazelnut is tasty. Like Nutella. Roasty and nutty. I wish it was smoother or creamier. A little bitter but not bad.

Nabbed this in MN. Love me some Belgians. Tons and tons of bubble gum flavor with cloves. Slight hop and no bitter but wish it had less malty. Hides the ABV, but it’s a little boozy. Granger scale is strong. Good one overall. Maybe 4.25

“Hello Fresh”! Success. Good stout. Very standard without frilly adjuncts. Just a solid roasty stout. Perfect with steak.

Coffee with some roasty taste. Smooth and just a little bitter on back end. 4 yes ago this bad boy was made before Covid was even a thing. Kim said it smelled like a swimming pool (chlorine).

No burn. Heavy molasses. Chocolatey hits you on the back end. How in the hell is this 17%?? Hides this incredibly well. Unbelievable

Far right. I had to try a nitro version. Extremely smooth as youd expect from nitro, but surprisingly creamy. The coffee is strong on this which knocks it down for me, but that's my fault not the beer. Nitro is a good way to go on this one.

Flavor profile of smoky and bitter? Not my thing, but they are muted. Not as bad as drinking an ash tray.

Canada trip. Grabbed this at founders on the way up to Canada. This was absolutely horrible when it was cold. 1.25. However as it warmed it got creamy and sweet with a hint of vanilla.

Maple Barrel Aged Frangelic Mountain Brown Simeon
I dont taste the coffee and that's fine. Very chocolatey and smooth/creamy. You can taste the maple syrup and bourbon. Delicious!!!! Amazing beer that you cant get outside of Founders in Grand Rapids.

Not sure how to describe. It's not hoppy, not really. Kinda zippy and citrusy. I like it. Too bad I can only get it at Founders.
