Utopias Barrel-Aged 120 Minute IPA Blaylock
High ABV, barrel-aged dogfish head through and through. High caramel, sweet, hoppy barleywine-esque

If this wasn’t dogfish head, it’d be rated higher. Have a small brewery push this out and it’d be 4+ average. Surprisingly good. Cardamom comes through in a super cool way. I wish it was lower abv, but man it is tasty

Kentucky Breakfast Stout (KBS) (2020) Blaylock
This is just so not worth the money anymore. Great beer for a typical price, not worth the $24/4pk cost anymore. Less expressive or lower quality barrels or something. Thinner, too.

KBS Maple Mackinac Fudge Blaylock
4.1 This is really good, but I don’t get any bourbon barrel. Maybe general oak but not BBA. Coffee and chocolate are huge, and the maple is more of a sticky sweetness mouthfeel thing and then pops up on the finish. Flavors develop at warmer temps.

Utopias Barrel-Aged World Wide Stout (2020) Blaylock
This is going to age great. Definitely a bit hot, as it should be, right now. I was surprised how different it was from the BBA version. All that barleywine influence is there, and a ton of fruitiness comes out at warmer temps. Awesome sipper dessert beer

Geuze Mariage Parfait (2014) Blaylock
Revisiting. Very funky, barnyard, sulfur. That profile dominates over acidity, sourness, etc. There’s actually an interesting malt sweetness that comes across as honey.

Surprised. Don’t really know how to rate this style of beer but man is it good. Awesome mouthfeel. Big cold brew coffee and vanilla. Super enjoyable
