Aronia Lambic (2019)

Nice Italian red grape Cantillon. Despite its 5 year age it didn’t have much of lambic backbone but instead funky, a bit tart, light and paired well with the humid dog days of NYC

Lou Pepe Kriek (2016)

Cherry remanent but the funk and acidity stands out most. A touch almond and cinnamon. Altogether enjoyable but I generally prefer the fruited lambics a bit younger

Old Fashioned 2022

This was very funky, strong orange zest. Not my thing but pretty true to what imagined to be an old fashioned cocktail lambic

Tyrnilambic Baie D'Argousier (2022)

Started off fridge temp with a sour brine. Initially 20,000 leagues under the sea and is it warmed it unleashed the lambic kraken (albeit a young one). Enjoyable but in a funky way. Definitely meant to be shared

Saint Lamvinus (2022)

More complex than I’ve had but it tasted mostly like wine. Not much lambic character at this age but still enjoyable

Vinous with a nice oaky funk. Surprisingly easy to drink with an oaky finish. Not too tart/acidic. Sessionable on a warm summer evening 😎

Zero carb, stinky 🧀 finish but smooth. Could use some more years for funk development. Complex

Gueuze 100% Lambic Bio (2018)

Probably first lambic i purchased 5 years ago at cantillon. Had it on draught on the self-guided tour. How this has evolved. Apple, funky, barnyard, vinegar, stinky 🧀. Love it!

Sang Bleu (2022)

Super bowl!! Not sure what blue honeysuckle is supposed to taste but I dig it. More vinous, mild funk. Not too tart or acidic.

Fou' Foune (2018)

Initially quite tart but opens up as it warms with pure apricots. 2018 with that aged funk aftertaste. Closing out 2022 with straight apritits

2nd time at Cantillon, fortunately visited right before covid-19 took over the world. I remember this to be tart, grassy and a bit hoppy. Tasty!
