Canadian Breakfast Stout (CBS) (2019) coffee
Aged nicely (2019) and no detectable umami or predominant dark fruit notes. Thick, sweet and enough coffee to balance it out. Not as outstanding as the rare batch I had years earlier but still very solid.

Backwoods Bastard (2016) coffee
2016 vintage. Predominant carmel aroma notes; smooth, sweet burnt sugar and crème brûlée notes on taste. Fantastic beer and the age more than likely blended and mellowed it nicely.

Backlog. Very balanced and enjoyable—Founders hits the sweet spot with this porter. While an imperial porter, it’s smooth, not boozy, perfectly sweetened with vanilla and maple syrup barrel notes—but not cloying. Thanks T.!

Solid. For a non-stout or porter the adjuncts bring a smooth, easy drinking, sweet & mellow beer. Tons of Carmelized sugar, coffee & vanilla notes.

One of my favorite coffee stouts of all time but cellared a year too long. Still excellent, but at year 5 it has lost some body, carbonation and coffee.
