Thanks Adam! This is blissful, funky and tart apricot, with shades of peaches and grapefruit. Absolutely perfect acidity and nice woody tannins. Oak and winey notes, with gooseberry and a nice drying on the tongue. Very drinkable, dry, complex, and winey.

Bottle 08-25-2016. Cellar L or maybe neutral. Still has nice bitterness and a roasty earthy fudge. There's a tart and acidic note, I assume the coffee. At worst it's not as sweet and vibrant, and af best it still tastes like founders BS. Boof this fresh.

Geuze Mariage Parfait (2013) Juan
Oh baby. This is so good. Dusty Brett funk, wet rain, bicycle seat, caramel cherry, no lactic teeth rape in sight. Deep caramel that is offset with this light lemon pop. Effervescent, well carbed. The Brett is still leaning sweet/tropical. 8 dolla shelfie

Curmudgeon Old Ale (2014) Juan
Probably on the wrong side of the cellar. Bottled 04/01/2014. Lots of sweet tea, faded molasses, oxidized malt and light cardboard esque notes. Barrel is gone, some molasses sweetness and simple syrup hanging on. Fun beer to cellar.

Curmudgeon Old Ale (2016) Juan
Bottled on 12/30/2016. Going on 7 years. Remarkably smooth, still has oak, lots of molasses, tree sap, caramel, raisins. Silky and all hop bitterness is smoothed out. Has an orange-pine nut note. Has held up well. Is it better fresh? Fresh is intenser.

Bottled 12-28-2018. Very much in transition still, smooth blended raspberries with sugar on a vibrant phenolic Belgian base. Has rose petals, herbal tea notes, currants, and some berries. Easy going and has held up well for 5 years. Gonna age for 10...

I really hate the premise here, but the flavor of maple cinnamon and French toast (cereal) is actually spot on and the base is malty and dry and not saccharine sweet. It ends up being a lot more balanced than a pastry stout. Still prefer the base.

Similar to new glarus... Lovely execution and why don't more breweries make something like this? 2021 vintage (11.15.2021). Cherry pie filling and molasses. Sweet and thick, light wood tannin and oak and maple. Would go hard in autumn. Tasty fruit beer.

Black strap molasses and the darker side of barleywine fare. Big coffee and roast, barrel, oak, bourbon, an earthy nuttiness, caramelized sugar, dark fruit, then waves of cherry and coconut. Big, boozy and complex, lot going on here

Maple and cherry worh a touch of bourbon. Lots of oak and wood and a pretty hearty ale base lurking beneath. No complaints from me about this one.

Utopias Barrel - Aged World Wide Stout (2021) Juan
Layered and complex, a nice sipping beer. Layers of wood, sweet dark fruits like raisins and plums, sherry, dark chocolate, and a bright back end that is sweet which I assume is the utopia barrel. Big beer, has the world wide stout raspberry-booze note.

I think this is a 2019 vintage? Drinking a lot better fresh, the aged malts add some caramel sugars into the mix and it dials up the raspberry. I actually really enjoyed this bottle, I'm almost inclined to say this won't age better but we will see...

Mmm aged barleywine-esque beer. This is drinking peak, tons of leather and prunes. Caramelized and treacle sugars, a nice rye bread thing lurking in the background. Smooth. Nice character. You can taste the hillbilly racist vibes, shout out to founders.

Barleywine-esque with toffee and overripe cherries and brown bananas and banana bread. There's a hint of peaty malt and a surprising amount of vanilla. Drinking nice fresh, and the 11% abv isn't oppressive but it's still hefty. Pairing with reuben.

Bottled October 2015. Gracias Adam. This is beautiful: gentle golden wheat base on a gooseberry winey oak barrel. I get mimosa and white peach, gentle apple juice, wheat fields and apple orchard, light barnyard stable, mild Brett must/funk. Summer vibes.

Adam my man this is gorgeous. My gma used to make rhubarb pie so big nostalgia. The base is this gorgeous, funky, barnyard golden ale. Mild oak, Brett, light horse stable. The fruit is subtle and soft, lightly sour, some berry notes as well. Summer vibe.

Rosé de Gambrinus (2014) Juan
Thanks Adam! Still incredibly fresh, raspberry forward with musty, cellar-like sourness. Tart and lemony, and that uniquely cantillon yeast character. I'm just amazed how jammy and berry intense it is, raspberries off the vine, weedy, unsweetened jam.

Much like Kbs this is a toothy malt-ride with a lot of oats and big grain and mouthfeel, followed by the Kentucky Bourbon. Pretty tempered sweetness which I like, and a mild note of maple and some nuttiness. Balanced, smooth, maybe needs a tad more barrel

I know it's a fun meme to hate this beer but it's really good fresh with quad-like alcohol and boozy fruits. It's like the cognac of IPAs but not quite malty enough to pull barleywine duty. It has bright tropical citrus from the alcohol hop combo.
