Nemesis (2021) G

Roasty bitter coffee, caramel sweetness, hoppy, lingering charred roasty malts. This stands out to me amongst the admittedly small number of barleywines I’ve had as leaning much more towards hops and bitter charred malt profile. Interesting beer.

Molasses, sweet toffee, maple, bourbon, drinks great still. Got this at Holiday Market in a discount bin for like $3 a couple years ago.

Extremely good, wow. Huge maple bourbon fudge on the nose. Huge stout flavors with a brown ale body. Chocolate, vanilla, coffee, maple, bourbon, oak, this is a tremendous beer.

Harvest Ale Mothership Series 2022 G

The kings of the wet hop ale are back at it, strangely with no fanfare or even a wide release? Big c-hop piney bitterness, softly sweet and tropical, lemon citrus rind, super clean and crisp, brightly carved. One of those beers that ushers in fall.

120 Minute Ipa (2022) G

Hop barleywine, a syrupy hop elixir.

Rosé de Gambrinus (2021) G

Awesome seedy, jammy raspberry, funk, oak, not too acidic, tart, still getting lots of that base lemony bright lambic.

B.A. Black Biscuit G

Thrilled to try this. Decadent and refined. Big maple bourbon, soft and sweet, chocolate biscuit roasty. Went down dangerously easy. Listed at 12%.

Utopias Barrel - Aged World Wide Stout (2021) G

Pretty good. Doesn’t hit you over the head like you might expect. Big rich dark malty, toffee, caramel, chocolate, figgy, barrel, goes down smooth.

Kentucky Breakfast Stout (KBS) (2017) G

I’d say it’s a bit past prime, more cola and coffee than fudgey chocolate, but it’s still an undeniable heavyweight.

Rich red wine, funky oaky lambic, delicious.

Spontanyuzu G

5 years old I think, very tasty, sour lemon candy, funky, oaky, lemon tart/lemon meringue pie, crisp, a touch on the still side.

Kriek 100% Lambic G

Fantastic - pours a gorgeous deep red with pinkish hue to the ample and lingering head. Funky, rich tart cherry, fruit leather, oak. Balanced and extremely inviting. Opens up as it warms.

Spontancherry Fredriksdal (2015) G

Phenomenal depth of cherry juice flavor here, wild cherry pie - getting some cinnamon barrel, there’s a certain wet viney funk to it.

Musty funky carbonated red wine, juicy grapes and skins, woody, savory, inviting, desirous of more.

Fou' Foune (2019) G

Starting the new year in style. Absolutely bursting with juicy ripe apricots, fleshy green apples, lemon citrus, touch of vinegar, like drinking an apricot cider out on the orchard. Funky and oaky, bright and effervescent, tart not overpowering. Balanced.

Underground Mountain Brown G

Boozy coffee chocolate roasty, very well balanced, goes down easy.

Classic Gueuze G

Suuuper funky and barnyardy, with a really nice bright vinous sour shining through. Citrus and cider. Oaky, finishes really crisp and clean.

KBS Maple Mackinac Fudge G

Iris (2019) G

Delightful, perhaps my favorite style of beer. Lightly tart and mineral, perfect touch of oak, wine grape notes, just perfectly crisp and clean and pure.

Harvest Ale G

Wish I drank this fresher, but this is a nice throwback to my earliest days of craft beer hunting, loved this beer. Palates evolve but good beer remains good beer. Piney and dank, bright citrus and some tropical fruit, grapey. Clean and crisp, crusher.
