5.25 of 10 Awful on the nose. Salty artificial peach flavor. Ok to drink but, nah, not a peach fan.

4 Giants Tropical Treasure Retling
7.0 of 10 the score for this is definitely gone down since September when I gave it a 7.5 out of 10. It’s kind of old for a hazy IPA, but still enjoyable to drink.

The Perfect Pairing Pale Ale Retling
6 of 10 it’s meant to be paired with sharp cheddar, and I feel like I’ve done it a disservice for not pairing it while I’m tasting it with a sharp cheddar.

Wood-Aged Bitches Brew (2018) Retling
6 of 10 the wood notes seem ashy at first, like a bitter component when drinking. The aftertaste goes from caramel, to coffee, to a bit of lingering sour. Quite Interesting how it’s aged.

6 of 10 Revisit. Less piney then years ago, which is better. Good malt backbone.

6 of 10 nice going down, but it has a bit of a watery mouth feel, which is typical of porters in my experience. Not crazy about the bitterness at the end, it’s like harsh coffee. I would’ve thought it would be a little sweeter if it had enough vanilla.

9 of 10 great roast KBS flavor, followed by blueberry bites.

7 of 10 nice golden ale. Citrusy, but not a fan of grapefruit without sugar.

Big Worse Red Wine Edition Retling
8 of 10 it has improved with age. The wine barrel notes have finally blended with the barley wine sweetness. Still seems to have some hot character. Alcohol burn at the end has mellowed.

10 of 10 kicked up to a 10! Definitely improved with age with a boozy kick!

6 of 10 Happy International Stout Day! I am surprised how may stouts don’t work with nitro. The mouth feel is watery instead of smooth. Flavor is more muted too.

9.25 of 10 OMG. This is awesome. The vanilla, cinnamon, and maple all blend in this incredible scotch ale. Maybe there’s even a vanilla boost from the oak barrels. ABV is admirable but does not have a lot of heat on the backend.

Mandarin & Mango Crush Retling
6.5 of 10 If you know me, you know I’m not a mango fan. But this is actually a pretty good blend that has a fruit punch flavor. Definitely has mango on the nose, and then the aftertaste.

8 of 10 Classic Belgian with Banana & Clove notes but with a light Agave sweetness.

7.75 of 10 smooth mouthfeel, juicy, tropical with a hint of pine.

Big Worse Red Wine Edition Retling
7.5 of 10 The wine notes and the classic barley wine notes actually seem to fight each other, and that’s a whole lot of alcohol burn. Still kind of fun though.

8 of 10 tasty yet a thin body. Coffee, toffee, hazelnut notes. Worthy of the KBS name.

6.5 of 10 very pleasant to drink, bitter impact is not uncomfortable, all around good West Coast vibe.

7 of 10 Good blend of tropical flavors with a hint of nuttiness. It goes down incredibly smooth.

7.25 of 10 smooth and juicy! The oats really take the edge off. Citrus character is more on the grapefruit side, but I think there’s some pine there as well.

KBS Maple Mackinac Fudge Retling
8.75 of 10 Chocolate and coffee flavors blend and balance very well. The maple is like sweetness on the “top” with a hint of vanilla.

7.5 of 10 A classic milk stout. A hint of marshmallow sweetness under an unassuming roasted malt backbone.
