Previous check-in was from 2017, and it was after 3 years in my cellar/closet which puts this beer at 10 years old. Call this beer ten thousand. Carbonation is almost gone. Flavor is trending to a mead. Kept too long.

41st 100+ degree day of 2023, and Punkin Ale was at the store…in cans! Tastes exactly the same. Copper color but called a brown ale always bothered me. I’m curious what the brown ale tastes like without the spices and brown sugar.

Pineapple, tangerine, lemon…citrus on top of citrus. Juicy sweet. Hops are amplifying the citrus.

Utopias Barrel-Aged 120 Minute IPA Robinson

Utopias barrel aged for the win. Raisin/prune sweetness to balance the 17% ABV and massive hops. Non-Utopias barrel aged versions in past years weren’t this complex and tasty.

Shelter Pale Ale Robinson

Original DFH ale? At 5% ABV that’s hard to believe. Sessionable (duh). Biscuit with a balanced hop profile. Why isn’t this nationally distributed? 120 Minute is, but this is much more approachable than that hop bomb triple.

Blue Hen Robinson

Y’all know that I’m an ale guy, but this is a smooth drinking, sessionable, crisp Pilsner without that metallic taste that I loathe about most Pilsners.

Citrus Squall Robinson

Grapefruit much? Aroma is grapefruit, but the agave and lime are tastebud testers. First double golden ale. New category? DFH is always trying to turn the ABV up to eleven.

Wake Up World Wide Stout (2022) Robinson

Pour on your pancakes good with a hint of maple. Coffee has a chicory tinge. Barrel-aged whiskey and vanilla additions. 17% ABV but doesn’t seem that big. DFH just being ridiculous.

Sang Bleu (Camerise) Robinson

Sour, berry, fruity.

Utopias Barrel - Aged World Wide Stout (2021) Robinson

Boozy AF. 17.3% ABV? Seriously? Really tasty, but the last drink of the night. Barrel aged goodness adds vanilla flavor. Almost port-like.

KBS Espresso (2021) Robinson

Very tasty. Espresso flavors dominate. Vanilla and chocolate are noticeable when you drink at 45-50 degrees. Ever so slight alcohol burn.

Panther Cub (2021) Robinson

I would leave the vanilla addition out, because the barrel aging will give that naturally. I am enjoying the maple syrup sweetness. It’s just on the right side of not too sweet.

Campfire Amplifier Robinson

It really does taste like liquid s’mores.
