Aging mutes the heat, cinnamon and maple really come through

Canadian Breakfast Stout (CBS) (2023) Day
Having this go away for a couple of years makes me appreciate it more. Seems smoother than before, not as heavy on the maple syrup. Good choice for the darkest night

Not excited by the new labeling, still drinking the last of the old

Thought about being dirty but just headed for the woods instead

Dessert (almost forgot the pic). Great French toast taste, lacks the bite of the Backwoods Bastard

KBS Chocolate Cherry (2022) Day
Sweet chocolate, hint of sour cherry with a hint of heat on finish. Nowhere near as good as the base KBS

Canadian Breakfast Stout (CBS) (2017) Day
Dessert….. Smoother with age, hint of maple followed by barrel aged goodness
about 2 years ago
FLN - seems a bit smoother and lighter, nicely blended barrel notes with a malt forward taste

Utopias Barrel - Aged World Wide Stout (2021) Day
Down to one aging, but a smooth sipper was a good choice tonight

Kentucky Breakfast Stout (KBS) (2017) Day
5 years of aging made this smooth, sweet, with just the right amount of bourbon notes on finish

Another night, another scotch ale. Still as good as I remember, not quite as smooth as the Tree Farm was

Too much raspberry and chocolate, could be that it doesn’t age well (brewed date 10/20)

Serious chocolate and vanilla notes, added on top of the nutty brown notes, makes this taste like an Almond Joy without the coconut to balance

KBS Cinnamon Vanilla Cocoa (2021) Day
Found a good way to spoil KBS. Cinnamon and cocoa do nothing to make this brew taste better

2 year old Berliner, but still interesting. Can’t really pick out a specific fruit taste, but it’s pleasant with a definite tart finish

Much more of a traditional barleywine. Big and boozy, has more of the bitter finish

Bottle dated 8/30/18. Just another confirmation that IPAs are better when the hops play second fiddle to the malts. Doesn’t hurt that it’s 17.1 ABV.....
