Brew night with a Dirty Bastard. It’s been a while since the last batch, and I have a new fermenter to try out. Making a Mocha Espresso Stout…

Malty, earthy, and a bit boozy , fresh out of the fridge. I’ve found the alcohol to fade as the brew warms up a bit.

Doing my best to hold off on drinking this until it comes up to at least 45-50F…

A rich, bourbony, brew with coffee notes and a smooth mouth feel. Definitely a sipper, and probably by a nice, roaring fire that you could get lost in.

Malty, smooth, and strong, with notes of caramel and fruit. Perfect for catching up with the return of John Oliver.

Boozy, raisiny, malty, and sweet. Oh, and did I mention boozy? This one is better a bit warmer than the 40F coming out of the fridge.

Tossed to me at the P-Rade by Hal Stern ‘84. Tastes better when sent through the air by a friend.

This one really needs to be a slow sipper, and I’m happy to make it last.

Fruity, boozy, malty, and sweet. Drinks like a barrel-aged brew. Would be great for sitting in front of a fire on a chilly night.

The scent of raisins, followed by a malty, boozy, sweet, fruity quaff, leaving a sense of a bourbon barrel ale. Quite tasty. Number 21 (delayed) in the #bankswinesandspirits Advent Calendar box.

Pleasant orangey-citrus aroma. Light orange and mango on the tongue, with a very slight, but nice, astringency. This will be great on a hot summer day, watching the ocean.

Enjoying this while watching Around the World in 80 Days on Masterpiece.

Goes well with The Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard (which is full of dirty bastards).

I do so like this one, especially as it warms up a bit. A nice accompaniment to Dune.

Fruity aroma. Not as tart as Shadow & Substance, but that is still the primary sensation for me.

Dark, malty, and smooth, with a hint of coffee. Much better than the last time I tried it.
