A Curious Arrangement of Stars Collins

On tap at DFH Brewing & Eats. Once again, I’m drinking one of these Mexican lagers after destroying my palate with stronger beers. Nonetheless, smooth, hint of lime and citrus. Worth trying.

Hazy Squall Collins

On tap at DFH Brewing & Eats. Fresh-squeezed citrus-type flavors, little bit o’ bitterness on the backend. Sessionable and pretty easy drinking.

Y'Already Collins

On tap at DFH Brewing & Eats. A dark lager w/ chili peppers…you don’t see a preponderance of these on the market. It’s an acquired taste, but I do believe this beer executes on exactly what it sets out to. Roasty and smooth w/ a nice spicy pepper kick.

Mostly Oceans Collins

Is this a vacation, or a vacation from IPA? Its the first time I've reviewed an Altbier. An old German style - essentially a hoppy brown ale with German specialty malts - so no surprise DFH is tackling it. Flavorful and satisfying, & glad I have a 4-pack.

Scorcher Selector Collins

A foreign / export stout? This style is deader than a dinosaur! But this is good beer and very much alive. Not a strong ginger presence, which I am pleased about. Tastes like good-ass coffee with cream & sugar. Pretty tight.

There's No Beer On Mars Collins

A red rye IPA on cask? Who does that? Count me in! “A gentle reminder to take care of our planet” per the menu. Consider me reminded bro. Creamy, smooth, but bitter as hell. I’ve long been asking for more breweries to make cask & nitro IPAs. Awesome.

Canadian Breakfast Stout (CBS) (2018) Collins

Yes, I’m cracking my sole 2018 bottle. The 2017 drank real nice back in December👌🏼. This beer has a topsy turvy history: In 2011, it was hailed as The One; by 2019 it was wasting away on shelves. All I can say is: if you hate on it, you’re a jabroni.

Nemesis (2021) Collins

Bottled 3/8/21. Well well a bottle of Founders Nemesis has found it’s way into my lair. I’ve heard it described as a black barleywine, but in my estimation it’s an ol’ school American Barleywine. Pours a half finger fluff with great retention. Gimme more!

Oktoberfest Collins

On tap at Chappy’s. It’s now August 21, so I think festbiers are considered in season…let the games begin. Founders take is a solid one, balanced, subtle malt sweetness with a crisp finish. I’d say ‘Prost’ but that’s so last year’s Oktoberfest.

KBS Collins

Old skool. OG, will always be a great beer. There was a day when you had to line up for this. Chocolate, coffee, bourbon. Son, it’s all been

World Wide Stout (2015) Collins

On tap at Capone’s Pliny The Younger Annual Event. Big, creamy, & an oh-my-goodness amount of bitterness, which is surprising - maybe it’s the age, maybe it’s 2015 vintage itself? Who knows. Bakers chocolate is heavily present. Big beers are fun to drink.

Horkin' Heapload Collins

Canned 1/19/22 (16 days). Hard to judge drinking out of a plastic Coca Cola cup at El Limon. DFH IPA profile, hefty ABV with balance of malts and hops. Nice brew.

Breakfast Stout Collins

Bottled 10/26/21 (66 days) and refreshingly fresh for a grocery store bought beer. Label reads “The consummate coffee lover’s beer”. Amen brothers & sisters. This beer always packs a huge coffee punch, and deserves its spot on BeerAdvocates Beers Of Fame.

Campfire Amplifier Collins

Faint smoke on the palate, light cinnamon brown sugar flavor, medium bodied. Not overly spiced. Pleasant and quaffable, I would drink more than one if I had another. A solid and tasty brew.
