It’s ok. Not anywhere near the best I’ve had but jot the worst. Guess I just expect more from Founders. Could just be a hop variety that I’m not crazy about.

Canadian Breakfast Stout (CBS) (2018) Huckaba
I’ve been cellaring this for years. Was a perfect stout night. This has mellowed. Not sweet at all - dry, coffee. This was very good.

Breakfast Stout Double Chocolate Coffee Oatmeal Stout Huckaba
This doesn’t bother trying to be sweet. Coffee and dark chocolate give this a dry, almost bitter finish. Great flavor.

Mothership Series Barrel-aged Marvelroast Huckaba
Wow. I’ve never had a barrel aged golden ale. Lots of complex flavor here. Vanilla, coffee, caramel. Sneaky at 11.1% - not boozy at all. Really tasty. Glad I smuggled it home from the brewery.

KBS Maple Mackinac Fudge Huckaba
Kind of obvious to say, but this is a huge maple chocolate bomb. The maple adds a sweetness to balance the bitter chocolate. Oh man - that’s a good beer.

Mothership Series: Blushing Padre Huckaba
That’s a beer that could make me drink fruit beers. Jammy raspberry and the tequila barrel aging adds a tequila flavor in the middle that is a great addition. Solid.

That is an excellent IPA. It’s been so hard to find good west coast IPAs. Found one! West coast - hoppy bite and smooth finish. Yes please.

Founders Old Fashioned Barley Wine Huckaba
Woof. I didn’t need to finish my evening with a >13% beer. It’s really good, but my judgment is pretty squishy so maybe it’s awful. But likely good.

How is it possible that a fruity mead is this good. Starters and finishes blueberry. Unapologetic blueberry. The honey sweetness to this is actually a complement, not a detractor. Really good.

Canadian Breakfast Stout (CBS) (2019) Huckaba
Oh. My. God. This one has gotten super smooth. Wow - can I be in love with a beer? If so, then I am. The booze was has gone and melted into a chocolate bliss.

It’s on! Starting small - berry is more subtle than I expected but I’m not sure that’s bad. Chocolate is dominant. A bit sweet but finishes dark chocolate.

Huh. That’s actually pretty good. If I can find this by itself, I may pick it up. Good alternative to their all day ipa.

Love that they’re doing more of these session IPA styles. This one is pretty good.

Ooo. Straight caramel. Super smooth Belgian. This has aged beautifully.

Underground Mountain Brown Huckaba
Don’t usually drink browns because they’re too thin. This one has the flavor of a brown, but it’s got the consistency of a stout. A little bit sweet but it’s very good

Kentucky Breakfast Stout (KBS) (2018) Huckaba
I don’t make a habit of checking in a beer multiple times, but this beer has aged beautifully. I’m always shocked how smooth these big stouts become with cellaring. The years have been kind.

Kentucky Breakfast Stout (KBS) (2018) Huckaba
Patrick cellared this for three years. Coconut on the nose. The sweetness is all gone and all that is left is the roasted malt flavor. Sneaky boozy.

Smoky, not too sweet porter. Plenty light but lots of flavor. Dry chocolate
