KBS Blueberry Schmitz

I had to try this, but I knew it wasn’t going to be great. It is unique and somehow works. Coffee and blueberries? It is good, not bad. This is a fair rating.

Chocolate Cherry KBS Schmitz

This may need some bit of time to settle the cherry flavors in, as its too much like the regular KBS. Left the coffee in the base, which makes it a bit bitter. Not bad.

Kentucky Breakfast Stout (KBS) (2022) Schmitz

I suppose I’d better rate the taste on the now, normalized KBS stout of 22. It’s a very good beer and I’m happy that I can get it year round, especially since many stouts tend to drop off after Spring. Very good!! Just a smidge too much coffee.

French Toast Bastard (Barrel Aged Series 2022) Schmitz

This is a tasty version of Backwoods Bastard, which has a maple syrup backbone. Nice, but a bit too much cinnamon is bringing it down a notch.

Apparently, this is something that ages well. Ok. Unfortunately, I don’t personally do really well in cellaring, so I think I’ll suck 3 out of the 4 down, enjoy, and see if I can hold off for n opening the last. This is deep, rich, and oaky. Cigar beer.

KBS Cinnamon Vanilla Cocoa Schmitz

I figured I would try this and while it’s not great, it is very good. They did a good job in not overwhelming with the cinnamon and therefore it does taste very much like a coffee with some vanilla and cinnamon. It’s pretty good.

4 Giants IPA Schmitz

Meh.

Kentucky Bourbon Stout (KBS) (2021) Schmitz

Sorry old friend, but your overused levels of coffee, have not made you nearly as good. With that said, you have been downgraded. Still good, just nothing to write home about any longer.

Panther Cub (2021) Schmitz

Hello Founders: How long did you age this in Bourbon barrels? I’m guessing about 3 days. Also, vanilla extract & maple syrup flavoring added? Didn’t you once have access to Maple barrels for CBS and Curmudgeon among others? This is embarrassing.

Meh! Not into coffee in beer much any longer.

World Wide Stout - Bourbon Barrel Aged Schmitz

Ah, that’s a big one. Lot of barley in there. Thick, lot of barley. Bottled 11-2019, advertised as 2020 WWS. Pretty good. It’s kind of like a super hot wing sauce, where it tastes really good, but it’s soo hot, and you keep going in and testing it.

French Toast Bastard Schmitz

This stuff is the bomb with the delicious maple syrup flavor. Fantastic.
