Gueuze 100% Lambic Bio (2018) Murenko

Smellin funky, lemon and apricot wine. Mildly tart, but juicy lemon upfront. Turn to mineraly tobacco, with lemon peel bitters and metallic brett. Wave of lemon candy late in the aftertaste. Crisp and refreshing. I'll give the edge to the 2017 batch.

Iris (2019) Murenko

Lighter on the tobacco and hay funk in aroma. Bit more sour than expected, lemon peel and tangy apricot. Very light carbonation, but super silky. Less abrasive than the 3F before it, but maybe I didn't prefer that today.

Gueuze 100% Lambic Bio (2017) Murenko

Something nice for my first Father's Day! Smellin burnt lemon peel, apricot and light hay funk. Flavor upfront is much the same, lightly sweet. Touch of tobacco. Citrus rinde and mineral bitterness in the back half. So crisp, so clean. Cheers, dads.

Rosé de Gambrinus (2017) Murenko

Bday brew #1. Smellin Swedish berries and solid woody funk. Sharp sourness, crisp and metallic upfront. Pickeled rasp notes come in, quite juicy! Final layer of tobacco, funk, and rasp seed bitters. Dry, refreshing finish. Kettle sours can get fucked.

120 Minute Ipa (2022) Murenko

Xmas brew #6. Big shout out to my bro, Thomas J. for this bucketlister. Intense aroma, like sherry acetone. Similar flavors to the 90min, but cranked to 11, same with the booze. Belgian quad notes too. A slow sipper, in front of the fireplace channel. 🎄

90 Minute Imperial IPA (2022) Murenko

Xmas brew #5. Same batch as last time, but drinking strictly for comparison to what's next. Honestly, this hasn't changed at all since I got em last spring. Caramel malt forward, bit of spicey hop bite. Dangerously smooth.

Liquid Confidence BA Rum (2020 Edition) Murenko

smells awesome, powerful and sweet rum barrel. very glad the chili pepper is light (or has died out over time), just a touch of pepper oil. more like choco covered raisons. it's a bit thin, but velvety smooth. can't taste the 15%, but sure feel it!

Fou' Foune (2017) Murenko

smells like parm, stinky feet and sweet apricot. flavor is full and robust marmalade. lots of tart apricot skin. little to no metallic edge. perfect dryness. bucket lister.

Mikkeller Oude Geuze (Old Calvados Casks Blend) Murenko

light geuze aroma. upfront: sweet, rotted apple, earthy, ale mixed with champagne. familiar metallic back end. feel is soft. pretty weird one.

Gueuze 100% Lambic Bio (2020) Murenko

Oct, 2020. 4.60. bright, fruity, funky, sour aroma. bright and bitey apricot sour funk up front. fades to tannin/leather bitterness. aftertaste fades back into apricot for an awesome finish. best lambic I've had.

Grand Cru Bruocsella Lambic Bio (2018) Murenko

4.40. smells mostly like a lambic would, but similarities end there. the zero carbonation here is just nuts. very light. fresh, green tobacco, oregano, and tannins upfront. mild acid lambic character and bitterness. crazy style, huge respect to cantillon

Kentucky Breakfast Stout (KBS) (2019) Murenko

breakfast dessert. way more bourbon taste than I remember from this batch. damn, heavy hitter.

Peter, Pale and Mary Murenko

late check in. not much to say or rate here, beer was too old to be a good example.

Fresh Start Murenko

botanical piney-goodness aroma. sweet florals upfront, and simcoe shows up later with the bitters. it's a tad light on flavor, but that makes it very crushable, indeed.

Kriek 100% Lambic Bio (2018) Murenko

birthday brew #3: 12.10.18. bucketlister for last, a long time coming. I've never had a kriek like it. tart, funky cherry aroma. intense lambic base, barnyard funk, mild metallic tinge, massive unsweetened cherry. healthy fizz. dry finish. goddamn.
