Nose is deceptively simple: spicy notes with ginger rising to the top. Taste: a complete reset, cola surges forward, ginger is there, sour-sweet-tart things keep circling...oh wow. One of the most unique taste experiences ever. And I love it.

Oude Schaarbeekse Kriek (2019) Release
Tart earthiness on the nose, cherry forward. Taste continues the same, sweetness is quite low. Finish is quite light and mildly berry-tart. I perhaps was expecting a bit more taste. Now just ok.

Nose gives a pleasant berry and vanilla ride, staying quite dry. Taste punches you to the canvas with a very tart edge, promoting a woody taste to creep upwards and finish the match. Nose is way sweeter than the taste. Bubbly mouthfeel. Hmm. Surprising.

Oude Schaarbeekse Kriek (2019) Release
Nose gives a tart cherry base, quite dry. Taste is tart, bubbly (good carbonation mouthfeel) and cherry. Finish boosts the tartness towards bitterness and adds a faint hint of christmasy spicyness even. Balanced and traditional. Lovely.

Kriek 100% Lambic Bio (2019) Release
Tartness to the max! Both nose and taste lead with a berry-skin-like tartness, with slightly earthy and woody funkiness. Downing a big bottle if this might be tough, it's good that there was a keg that could measure out a smaller portion. Rare delicacy.

Quite light in both nose and taste, mildly dry hoppiness dominates the very easy-going and refreshingly drinkable package. Perfect for hot summer days. Slava Ukraini!

Coffee dominates, but is smoothened by a milky aspect. Hints of nuttiness and chocolate in the middle. Very smooth, but still has the nice bitter coffee finish.

Mammamamma Double Blueberry Pastry Sour Release
Very smooth overall, nose and taste are dominated by a tart berry, not necessarily blueberry. Would love a bit more pastry in this. Voltage hidden well. Good, but was expecting a bit more from the recpe.

Santa Gose F&#% It All Release
Oh wow. Nose has almost a fizzy and bubbling fruity scent with citrusy hints and vanilla sweetness. Taste brings in more smooth sweetness, underlining the vanilla. Wonderful, smooth and delicious. Saltiness is very subdued. Love this! Yum!

Chocolate, sweetness dominates. A bit too sugary for my liking. Smooth, balanced and nice, but did not perhaps meet my high expectations for the brewery.

Kentucky Breakfast Stout (KBS) (2016) 12.4% Release
Initial nose gives off some worrying raisin whiffs, but this fades away as I acclimatize. Taste is velvety smooth, dominated by a licorice base, laced with chocolate, some roasty notes and finishes with a lingering licorice/anis taste. Smooth AF. Yum.

Loads of cinnamon and dark chocolate, mixed with biscuits and grainy feels. Continues in the taste, with added dark chocolate bitterness in the finish. Superbly balanced, smooth and focused. Yum!

Geuze Mariage Parfait (2016) Release
Delicate and robust at the same time. Cellar floor earthiness mixes with delicate tartness with dry grapeskin and yeasty whiffs. Finish is tart and slightly bitter, but fades away soon.

Initial nose has a heavy berry presence, with a worrying whiff of raisin. Fortunately taste rolls you over with dark ripe berries with nice tartness and smooth sweetness. A lot of sweetness...but it still remains balanced. Unexpected curio discovery! Nice

Has citrus and fruity nose on on top. Taste brings in sweet maltiness with a hazy, grapefruity body. Oh dear, we've seen this before... Finishes as an overly malt-sweet jumble of fruity sweetness and forced hazy sweetness. Just awful.

Nose gives off a nice licorice fragrance mixed with a basic porter roastiness. Taste is quite light for a porter and leaves a nice finish lingering. A good porter in the non-imperial sector.

Nose gives off a coffee roastiness mixed with sugary sweet blips. Taste slaps you first with a bitter, dry edge that mellows into a roasty and ashy finish. Again, there is a somewhat detached and separate sugary sweetness that pops up for a while. Odd.

Beer Geek Vanilla Maple Cocoa Shake Release
Nose hits you with a rich maple, vanilla fragrance...from afar. Taste begins with a confusing jumble of many tastes, eventually finishing in a dark and slightly bitter chocolate. Somehow this is a bit all over the place. Still good, but could be better.

On the nose I get some earth cellar floor and ripe apple notes. Taste is a balanced and aged mix of tartness, earthy notes and drying yeastinees. Refined, balanced and delicate. Love it.

Intense salty licorice dominates a roasty base. Some flashes of sweetness now and then, but the saltiness kicks it away. Very smooth and has a long finish. Excellent!
