Kentucky Breakfast Stout (KBS) (2018) Shuster

After nearly five years in the cellar it is almost dead flat - not a bad thing tho. Without the CO² bite, it really lets the barrel flavors come thru. Good beer.

Big Luscious (2020) Shuster

3 years old out of cellaring. Still has a nice raspberry finish. Great fruited beer. Right up there with Koz.

A lot of oak, a bit of bourbon. Smokey and a touch sweet. Doesn't drink like 11% at all. Dangerously good.

World Wide Stout - Bourbon Barrel Aged Shuster

I feel the base beer aged better than the BBA version, for my specific tastes. There is a pronounced oak-y bitterness/astringency in this one. Not a negative, but on the heels of the non-BBA, a bit jarring. Next year, I'll try in reverse order BBA 1st

Faint aroma of baker's yeast? Not much lime flavor. Odd chemical taste. Not doing it for me.

Founders Old Fashioned Barley Wine Shuster

Sweet fruit nose. Bourbon and slight heat. Cherry a bit on the medicinal side but not bad. Nice aftertaste. Not an old fashioned, but pretty tasty!

Back-of-fridge discovery. Still had the big hit of grapefruit when I opened the can. The flavors have seriously faded though. Not going to downrate it - my fault for not drinking it sooner. Lesson learned!
