A personal favorite from the Danish outfit. I can’t get a hold of it too often, and maybe it’s for the best. It has quite a distinct flavor, smooth and pleasant, not too sweet, and a moderate bitterness. HH is getting close with their recent chamomile ipa

Feels a bit… one dimensional, not sure what to make of it. It’s not past its prime, at least by looking at the label (BBD 08.24), yet it feels rather flat. I’d consider it a sessionable, very easy drinking pale ale, with hints of white grapefruit.

Isn’t Bad Seed that guy from the YT channel, Peter something?! Anyway, damn fine tribute to the German Zwickl! Wonderfully malty, bready, damn, there’s even a hint of smoke if I’m being thorough. All in all, a wonderful Danish German beer :))

Easy drinking, uncomplicated, dry, golden pils with a nice dose of spruce turning up towards the end, making it a rather pleasant offering.

Dispersed Vertices Dry-hopped Hersbrucker Spät Sîrbu
A much more pleasant vrew than the previous one. Wonderfully fresh, zingy and citrusy.

It might be the oldest one I’ve had, and I can confirm it aged gracefully.

90 Minute Imperial IPA (2022) Sîrbu
They dressed my boi with a new outfit, made him thinner, taller, barely entering the frame. 660ml of pure danger, more punch to the throat than usual. Oh well, I guess there’s no rest for the wicked.

KBS Maple Mackinac Fudge (2022) Sîrbu
I’m a fan of Founders’ simple goodness. This one’s praiseworthy as well; more of a desert sipper, think lava cake in a bottle, with a hefty dose of roasted coffee emerging in the finish and a wave of sweet bourbon booze. I like that.

“Apportez le camembert, s’il vous plaît! Mmm, mmm, quel nez!” Light bodied, fizzie and delicious. Ending on a high note, because why not. Thank you Florin M. !

This one is a step closer to the West Coast territory, with pleasant piney aromas and hop bitterness. Right up my alley. Let’s hope they can keep the… momentum.

This is a brewery that I have followed since inception, and I appreciated their “no fuss” take on classic styles. Alas, lately it seems (to me at least) like they hit a fork in the road. Beers lack depth, intensity, flavor, dunno… Wake up, chaps!

What a lovely brew right here. Not sure if it was inspired by Sierra Nevada’s similar offering, or if there was any influence whatsoever, and this matters little. It’s a clean, crisp, refreshing beer, with wonderful fruity and floral aromas.

Fairly potent porter, but I’m afraid there’s little to none when it comes to the advertised orange peel or spruce tips. It’s a good porter, mind you, one that I’d happily revisit. But I would have loved to see more influences from those sprinkled adjuncts

It’s tough holding a candle to the likes of Celebrator or Korbinian, but I, for one welcome the effort. I wish there was a little bit more nuance to it rather than plain, ol’ malty roastiness. I took a few sips but then had to give up on it.

Malt-forward lager with extra smooth mouthfeel and a bready, orange-y nose. Very easy drinking, you can certainly put down a few of those in an evening. Not that I’d encourage reckless behaviors.

Bourbon Barrel Aged Colossus Sîrbu
LCI.Hair chest growing experience. Alas, there were no real layers of coconut, vanilla, charred oak but rather one, very pervasive flavor: bourbon. Alcohol, man! Lots of it. Watered down, charred bourbon. Felt more like an impy stout than a barleywine too

HORAL's Oude Geuze Mega Blend (2021) Sîrbu
Felt very much like a dry-hopped geuze, very much in the veign of Anchorage’s Bitter Monk. Wonderful brew.

Held onto this beauty for quite some time. Top notch, malt centric classic.

A great balance of hops and sweet malt base. Benchmark stuff. Then again, the IIPA west coast style is my kryptonite 🤷🏻♂️

Good, ol’ school american ipa. Massive aroma of pine, grapefruit and citrus. Flavors follow, with malty sweetness, medium body and fine carbonation.

Belgian imperial red ale aged in rum, red wine and port wine barrels. Now that’s a hefty amount of effort. The end result? A spiced-up version of a mulled wine, pretty heavy in the alcohol side. I kind of like it, but to me it’s a nightcap. One and done.

Backlog. At this point everything was nothing but slightly different flavored vinegar.

Forgotten beers straight from the vault: darn good quality right here, despite the fact that the BBE has long past :)) It still maintains a high drinkability with crisp, malty and biscuity aromas. Lovely pils!

A delicate offering from Cantillon, showcasing grapes and red berries, all the while bringing subtle and complex depth with just the right amount of funk.

Sweet malty / biscuity brew. It replicated the crispy barley seeds aromas almost to perfection.

Mmm, mmm, mmm! Dry and fruity, yeast heavy with a wonderful, inviting dryness. Light must, crisp fruit. Wonderfully composed. And boy, look at that color!

Oude Geuze A L’Ancienne VAT 108bis Mono Blend Sîrbu
A bit of a small treat on a late Friday afternoon… Funky, white grapes, green apples and citrus aromas, medium sweetness, moderate bitterness and a decent amount of sourness. Pretty complex and highly enjoyable on a hot, humid summer day.

Bright pale yellow with strong grapefruit peel hitting you straight in the nostrils. The taste flows, with a herbal and citrus feel all the way through. Quite refreshing and falling more in the lager category, which is damn fine by me.

Come summer days, I don’t mind a glass of cold Riesling, maybe even two. Now, with this variety, Mikkeller has punched out quite a nice NEIPA, with a light and sour-ish twist. Beer and wine together in an unholly matrimony, and it sure works!

“It’s not easy being drunk all the time. If it were easy, everyone would do it.”

Can’t find a fault here. This is a good ol’ tropical, hazy neipa, ticking all the right boxes.

Just what you need to feel in an impy IPA, no fuss, just pure old dry hopping and herbal goodness. Wonderful!

Oude Geuze A L’Ancienne VAT 108bis Mono Blend Sîrbu
Benchmark stuff in the lambic world. Nothing too overpowering, everything seems just right, with all those peachy aromas combined with a slightly sour mouthfeel and fine carbonation. A small treat.
Fucking bitter, like munching on a peach pit. There’s a nice coffee sweetness hitting at first, but it’s ultimately overwhelmed by some bitter pithyness that makes it difficult to swallow. The flavors are way to divisive, I cannot give a verdict.

Malty Vienna lager, it almost has a barley-wine flavor if I think about it - a soft one, but it seems to be there.
Well-rounded, citrusy pale ale with a fine, consistent carbonation, a winner in my book.
A good example of a well done DIPA, allowing every aroma to shine through, be it tropical, floral, bitter or the likes. Nothing overpowering, everything sits nicely balanced. Solid release from the Danish outfit.

A good ol’ nice and crisp session IPA, with just the right amount of bitterness.

Well, you can’t go wrong with this one. It’s a wonderfully rounded raspberry lambic, to be enjoyed anytime.

Backwoods Bastard (2020) Sîrbu
I think the interewebs did a good job at describing the qualities of this bastard, so I will not bother any more. Suffice to say it’s excellent. Proper craftsmanship. G’night.

Underground Mountain Brown Sîrbu
God damn tasty brown ale!... Roasted Coffee ✔️ Vanilla ✔️ Oak ✔️ Dark chocolate ✔️ Caramel ✔️Really complex imperial brown, I’d say one of a kind.

A pretty solid lager, does the job and ticks all the right boxes on a hot, humid summer day

A beer that while good, doesn’t really have anything special, nor does it stand out. You can’t really find it any fault, apart maybe from the price.

This is a monster and definitely a sipper. Lots of tropical flavors, biscuity malts and woody undertones. Reminds me of Ololeo and a couple of other Scandinavian beers. It’s definitely on the sweeter side but so, so complex. Highly enjoyable!

Every now and then you come across a fine treat, and GGITS is one of them. Lovely peachy aroma, with fresh lime and yellow grapefruit. Goes down easily, having a well hidden ABV. Great brew, one to savor late in the evening.

West Coast is best coast! Give me a proper west coast ipa and I’m happy. OK, this one here could have been slightly hoppier and herbal. For example their “Things Ain’t What They Used To Be” was far better. Nevertheless, a solid brew.

Things Ain't What They Used To Be Sîrbu
I’m a sucker for ol’ skool west coast ipa, it must be said. Regardless of any bias, this D&B concoction hits all the sweet (or should I say bitter) spots. Lovely piney awesomeness and a beautiful amber color (the pic doesn’t do it any justice).
