Pretty thin, subtle citrus with a floral element. Nothing special. (Spending money on more excavating work)

Plenty of bourbon, some oak and a twinge of smoke. Perfect start to a (well deserved) 😉 three day weekend.

Canadian Breakfast Stout (CBS) (2023) cousineau
Well it’s back after being retired. Thick and warming coffee and cocoa…the bourbon goes well with brunch…it is a “breakfast” stout after all. 😉

Strong coffee and cocoa….probably should’ve saved for Thanksgiving morning! Delicious!

Pours a cranberry red. Boozy 11%. Plenty of bourbon in the finish. Another favorite from Founders.

Cold weather means I’m hitting the malty beers hard. Caramel and toffee…love this “wee heavy” brew.

Smooth, rich and chocolatey! Terrific Porter…looking forward to Spring!

🎃 #12. A Brown Ale with 🎃. Excellent flavor, bit of alcohol and nutmeg come through in the finish. Think this is my favorite of Pumpkinfest ‘23 so far. 4.5 🎃’s.

Decent flavor, on #2, so pretty quaffable. Light (no surprise) dry finish, not sweet at all.

Hazy and once again on the light side. All hop, no malt to speak of. (Garage heating system coming along).

If you concentrate, you can almost taste the flavors that make a Black IPA amazing. Watery and thin, next time don’t scrimp on the ingredients. Disappointing to put it mildly.

Might seem like a strange pick on a sultry evening…well it’ll warm up quick and that’s when all the great flavors shine. Revisiting an old favorite!

Wake Up World Wide Stout cousineau
The 15.3% octane overpowers the other flavors. $10 bottle? Once was enough. Warming, just like this charming curmudgeon ‘greeter security stiff’ at DMV. He barked some instructions at me on the way in…I gave him some wisdom on the way out! 😏

The highlight was the lacing on the glass as I drank it. Otherwise it’s pretty ho-hum.

Took me almost an hour to finish…not a good sign. Has some pine (once it warmed up), watery finish. 🥱 Founders…you Floundered with this one.

Plenty corny. 🌽 Spicy slightly peppery finish. Awaiting latest snow onslaught.

90 Minute Imperial IPA cousineau
“Esquire Magazine says this maybe the best IPA in America” 🤣 Not by a long shot. Sometimes I like it…sometimes not so much. Today It’s good…but it was a rough day. I may just hate snow more than anyone.

Surprised I’ve never had this before. Pretty floral, crisp and sweet. Would like to do a side by side comparison with Sierra Nevada Pale.

Been awhile for this one…either my tastes have changed or the beer has. At least it’s a break from the hazies.

Light and bright…pretty good. Hoping for a Seahawks upset!

Always game for a new Dogfish. On the light side, and a bit lemony, but should be a fine burger washdown.

Ultimate Oktoberfest cousineau
Intense bourbon aroma. Super smooth, mile deep malt. Highest octane Märzen to date (The Kaiser was the previous high water mark, haven’t seen that in a long time)! Anyway, a interesting domestic version. Too bad the “real” Löwenbräu isn’t available.

Mike Lindell would be proud of this IPA…pillowy soft head and body. Like the rye in the finish. However a collaboration between Trillium & Dogfish, I expected more.

90 Minute Imperial IPA cousineau
Been a long time since having this one, last time it was awful. Fresher example this time. Loads of malt make it on the sweet side, but the hops shining through. Dank syrupy finish, bumping up my rating. (58-62 center console if you’re wondering). 😏

Slightly sweet and citrusy. Not super complex, but crushable at 4.6%. Lingering aftertaste that I can’t figure out.

Sweet and boozy. Tasty bourbon notes. Wee heavy indeed, think I’m done with ladders today. Warren County takes pride in everything they do!

Sweet malt, hint of smoke and plenty of earthy peat…delicious! Just the ticket after another harrowing commute on the interstate…way too many Jersey clowns up here!

7 malts, some prat, some smokiness…super fresh example with long lasting sweet creamy head. Revisiting this long time favorite.

Where the Wild Hops Are cousineau
Prickly pear opening perhaps? A touch of citrus, but more of a farm ale. Hint of dankness, bit earthy as well. This one hitting lots of different taste buds. A hint woody in the finish. Definitely not your average IPA....and that’s not a bad thing.

Canadian Breakfast Stout (CBS) (2017) cousineau
Drowning my sorrows today...our 15 year old cat Jake succumbed to cancer today. Seemed fitting to pop open the last bottle of vintage CBS. That cat greeted me every night after work. Cat had more personality than most people. Big hole in my heart. 😑

Supposedly Gose brews can store up to 5 years...well this one is from last year...has survived ok. Plenty of lime and tequila. Not bad, but sure not my favorite style. Busy day helping set trusses.

Kentucky Breakfast Stout (KBS) (2018) cousineau
Celebrating new garage lower level concrete pour. And after getting soaked to the bone, nothing but a huge bourbon barrel aged stout will do. Copious amounts of chocolate and coffee... no shortage of bourbon either. 12.3% bomber.

Pours crystal clear, the pumpkin is a bit earthy, with some brown sugar. Love a good pumpkin 🎃 ale!

Fantastic roasted coffee and smooth chocolate. Terrific Porter. Thanks Herb! Hope you’re not tired of Corvette pics yet.

Thick and boozy...11.6% bomber! Perfect for yet another gloomy rainy day. Has held up fantastic after 3 years of maturing. Thanks Herb! 🍻

Yeasty aroma. Nice long lasting 3/4” head. Sample is a bit long in the tooth...even so, not a bad IPA, need to try a fresh one. No shortage of girls that like to pose with Corvettes...fortunately! 😉

This has actually held up fairly well for being 10 months old. Wasn’t that the original purpose of IPAs? Anyway refreshing on a warm Spring evening.

Rich creamy and big time chocolate. Perfect for yet another dreary day. Anyone telling me “we need the rain” does do at their own peril. I’m a big fan of the ‘62 Corvette interior. Thanks Herb for another great brew.

Time to relax with a great brew after first new garage hiccup, excavating to move my electric service...well we now know exactly where the leech field is 🤮. This features a terrific blend of coffee, cocoa and vanilla. Thanks Herb!

Underground Mountain Brown (2020) cousineau
Long day + 11.9% = giddiness. Don’t think cellaring this would benefit it. Great depth of coffee and bourbon. Only thing missing would be a cinnamon encrusted rim on the glass.

Time for a little Bourbon Barrel Aged excitement. Vanilla compliments the bourbon really well. The splash of maple syrup is the cherry on top. Fantastic 9.2% dessert brew.

Kentucky Breakfast Stout (KBS) (2018) cousineau
Coffee, chocolate and a heapin’ helpin’ of Bourbon 🥃 infusion. 12.3% Bomber...better get started! Thanks Herb!!!

Was pretty reluctant to try this one...hesitation was un’founded’ 😉 . Anyway...lots happening, sea salt, lime, and the Tequila comes through strong. Almost a margarita! Thanks Herb!

At first sip thought the raspberry was subtle...but with every sip it seems to multiply. Tartness is strange in a stout. Interesting, but no session brew.

Sort of a Starbucks concoction with 8% abv. Creamy and sweet. The vanilla is forefront with a coffee finish. Hiding property tax bill under my magazine, will look after I finish my brew. 🤦♂️

Underground Mountain Brown cousineau
Sure not your typical Brown Ale! Quite earthy, coffee bean and strong oak. Plenty of alcohol burn at the finish line 🏁. 11.9% amnesiac. Thanks Herb!

Tastes like a Starbucks creation. Coffee, cocoa & vanilla in a nice 8% blend. A Wednesday afternoon sipper.
With 7 hop varieties it’s a mishmash of flavors. Fair amount of dankness, pine syrup, bit of citrus, resinous...liking it more with every sip.
