From yesterday. Mad fruit vibes. Forward and assertive, almost fleshy in taste. It sure I’ve ever experienced Kriek like this. Super fresh tasting.

I’m going to assume this is the vintage that came out with then Zwanze beers to Oz. All things as expected - white wine forward, done sweetness, mild funk but overall, it’s all about the white grape.

Really interesting. Decent stone fruit in the nose - think leach and even more so, apricot. Body carries ut all nicely. Salinity is expected but not overwhelming until it warms. Then it drives it further. Semi-dry throughout.

Second to last bottle and, although it’s been 3 years since my last, very little has changed with it. Fearful it may decline from here, not being the strongest of vintages. Time will see I guess.

Loving this. Definitely a few more good years in it too. Dried apricot, green apple skin, a little old citrus, dusty basement and funk. Soft carb and a dry(ish) finish. Four more bottles of this - just gotta keep my hands of them.

Sadly this particular bottle hasn’t faired all that well. Lots of leather and cardboard - oxidation has really crept in. Still getting the figs and caramel but in really subdued amounts. Shame but got a couple more stashed away.

Gone to god. It’s just ash now. It all made sense once we realized it was the 2009.

Cant say I’ve anything to compare this too, nor am I at all familiar with the berry used. Found this interesting. Picked up some real earthy notes but then some sweetness would drop in. The earthiness worked well with the funk.

Great gueuze flavours of old citrus, oak and dry Funk. Flat as can be so the other bottles are getting tucked away for a few years.

Oaky, a little dry and vinous. Some funk but overall I really wish I had this next to the wine to really get the grape, which I’m not at all familiar with.

Opened with a loud pop and and even more expressive gush. Lost a good glass worth to the table top. Fantastic stuff tho. Citrus, oak, really smooth. So well integrated. I could drown in this.

Let this warm up more than usual and dividends were paid! Creamy feel to the body. Fruit forward but the funk is definitely on the up. Expressive but restrained, as a whole it’s sublimely well put together.

Treacle and malt-driven brown sugar vibes dominate. Lactose is present but adds minimal sweetness. Certainly get it at the back end though. Smooth body (again c/o ‘tose). Not a bad BW but nothing overly exciting either. #bil

Cuvée Saint-Gilloise (Champions) (2017)
The absence of a third year lambic in this does it no harm. Horse blanket, old oranges and a bit of slate. Not overly though provoking but that’s not a bad thing. Missed the batch number though…

As Good as i could hope it’d be. Great dry finish and mineral notes coming up. Obligatory loon funk and old orange rind.

Grand Cru Bruocsella Brut (2019)
A really odd punch at the back. Kinda citrus in a way. ‘Rindy’ is how I’d describe it. Not sure if I’d chase this again but I liked that it challenged me.

Almost un-Cantillon like with the vanilla but phenomenally tasty. Everything is tempered perfectly by the vanilla without adding too much of an artificial edge. So soft for the fruits involved. Loved it.

I really enjoyed this. Less so than previous vintages but the apricot game is still strong. A bit of funk and fairly vibrant fruit however the finish kinda sucked. Very dry to start but that grip did loosen further into the bottle.

All I know it’s the blend before 4/20. Great fresh but I think I prefer it with a bit of age.
