Rich molasses malts. Accurately portrays itself in ABV even for such an ancient beer. Still holds a head indefinitely too. There must be something behind the "old" in old ales! If I was a sailor, this would be my beer.

It’s cherry…. It’s sweet…. But it’s also choc and roasty and 11.6%abv…. BUT, kinda feeling inadequate with a 6oz. pour. lol

Thick and strong. Like boy from village, only it won't carry you home.
