It’s ok. This stuff doesn’t hold up as much as we think. It’s still fruity and funky but it’s acidic to the point of being undrinkable, and also it looks shite 🤷🏻♂️

Missus really enjoying this one. Couldn’t hack it last time we opened one 🤷🏻♂️ Anyhoo, it’s port barrel - tastic. Quality goozer.

Solo domed this at the loon factory January 20 waiting for the missus to get there. She’d had to hissy fit at the Eurostar check in to get let through after a late train to London. Anyhoo it’s a great bev. Fruity bubblegum to fuck.

Got to love a beer that is self opening. Behaves impeccably thereafter. Very mineraly. Bit of preserved lemon. Clean oaky and bretty. Lively throughout. Good gear.

It’s entirely possible, and perfectly reasonable that this is the best beer the Loon Factory produce. You can do what you want with it but ultimately this is your provenance in a glass.

Wow. Gloopy, dull and acidic. Also way darker than any other Iris I’ve had. Hoping it’s just a shit bottle, because I picked up a box full 🤦🏻♂️

Holy balls. Vinous funky and ultra juicy. High class.

Anderlecht funk with a bit of age, unsullied by anything, makes for incredible beer.

Cheeky mid-week (for me) loon. That Anderlecht funk is strong here. Big Vimto action. Tartness. Juice 🍇👊🍇

March bottling. Orange peel up front with woody leathery Anderlecht funk presiding. Love a fresh loon.

Xmas day magnum. Big bottle tiny glass. Mega.

May 23 bottling. A tad wheaty for the minute but overall it’s juicy and a little hoppy and has yer Anderlecht funk in spades.

2nd pop at this. Subtle cognac notes suit the juicy oaky base beer pretty much perfectly. Stunner.

Dry and lean. Grape lees. Suede like funk. Dessert wine vibe to finish. Ace.

2019 is funky vinous oaky fusty and well juicy.

So a year on it’s lost the gloop. Still stinks. Tart and full on bretty. Glorious.

Found this a little acidic on release. Well that’s not the case now. It’s bright and breezy still, with a bit of fust and stink. Rounding out good.

Now obvs aged Iris is where it’s at, but this is also where it’s at. Has an orange peel vibe among the oak and light new leather funk. Mouthfeel is stunning. Big on the Loon Factory twang to finish. Glad I picked up a shit load on last visit.

Birthday bev. Earthy fruity and lightly herbal. Had this at the loon factory as Camerise so a different vintage (2019). Seemed juicier then. Anyway it’s still top tier gear.

Whoa. I mean it’s like funky oaky red wine with a pile of red fruit chucked in. Just swilled it right down quick time 💪

Me: “What do you want to drink?” Missus: “Iris” Me: “Oldest we have is 2018” Missus: “That’ll do”…

It’s not bollocks that this gets better with time.

October 2017 bottle. Baked apple and wet leather. Condition is perfect. Par for the course really.

Yup. This is right how you’d want a fresh loon. Big juice. Bright funk. Clean and tart. Touch of salty hole (thanks Vin). Beautiful beer.

This is doing well. Low acidity but still nicely fruity. Nicely leathery sweaty funk.

20 months on this one. Bright and light with hay, light tannic notes and wet oak.
Not dissimilar to the A&G Vintage I just necked. This is sweeter and maybe more tart. Either way it’s class.

Missus: “Nice. Very nice.“ I’ll not argue.

Preserved lemon. Brine. Oak. Leathery funk. Fresh.
Oaky, funky and vinous. Nice to drink fresh and vibrant.

Well it’s livened up significantly, and lost some of the rhubarb tartness. I’m not complaining tbh. Still plenty of Loon Factory funk.

Like being sat in Restobieres (RIP 😭)

Yup. Port barrel. Mineral and leathery funk. Missus wasn’t too impressed.

Bittersweet funk and a ton of mineral. Mouthfeel is stunning. Glorious overall.
Good gear. Bit overly acidic and thin though.
Understated. Crisp and clean nevertheless. Quite acidic.
It’s like it’s already aged, according to the missus.

20/21 job. Fresh as a daisy. Vanilla oak and dessert apple.

Second pop at this. Even better now. Bittersweet and full of sweaty funk.

25/10/17 bottle. Sweet apple and bretty oak.

25 November 2019 job. It’s one of the best, isn’t it?

2020 is getting tart and a little funky. Still a load of apricot pulp though.
3.34 average? Get a fucking grip. This is like a lager top (made specifically) with Carling Black Label and Schweppes lemonade. And that’s a very good thing.
Proper juicy af. Missus not digging it so much 🤦🏻♂️

Good. Apricot yoghurt as opposed to fresh apricot.
Sweet and tart rhubarb deliciousness.
Green bitterness, even now. Super tasty, leathery funk.
Beautiful. Not a hint of yoghurt. Chugged it tbh.

No other brewery evokes that feeling of being sat in that brewery.

Significantly better than the shite I’ve forced myself to drink tonight.
