Here we are again. This is delightful. Soft vanilla whisky notes and bright fresh orange peel to the fore 🍊🍊

Solo domed this at the loon factory January 20 waiting for the missus to get there. She’d had to hissy fit at the Eurostar check in to get let through after a late train to London. Anyhoo it’s a great bev. Fruity bubblegum to fuck.

HORAL's Oude Geuze Mega Blend (2021) 2

Got to love a beer that is self opening. Behaves impeccably thereafter. Very mineraly. Bit of preserved lemon. Clean oaky and bretty. Lively throughout. Good gear.

Gueuze 100% Lambic Bio (2017) 2

It’s entirely possible, and perfectly reasonable that this is the best beer the Loon Factory produce. You can do what you want with it but ultimately this is your provenance in a glass.

Wow. Gloopy, dull and acidic. Also way darker than any other Iris I’ve had. Hoping it’s just a shit bottle, because I picked up a box full 🤦🏻‍♂️

Anderlecht funk with a bit of age, unsullied by anything, makes for incredible beer.

Cheeky mid-week (for me) loon. That Anderlecht funk is strong here. Big Vimto action. Tartness. Juice 🍇👊🍇

Light white wine vinegar. Raisin. Anderlecht funk. Oak.

Tad wheaty overall. Not popping particularly. Lightly funky.

Barbera 2

These grape lambics are flying down. Tart dry grape juice stalk and pomace. Whiff of medicine. Complex and easy at the same time.

Scarabée 2

Gewurtztraminer pomace. Honestly might have guessed that 🥴 Floral and a bit raisin like. Poffed it.

La Corvée 2

Yeah it’s like pop! Chugged it just a tiny bit 😬

2nd pop at this. Subtle cognac notes suit the juicy oaky base beer pretty much perfectly. Stunner.

Dry and lean. Grape lees. Suede like funk. Dessert wine vibe to finish. Ace.

2019 is funky vinous oaky fusty and well juicy.

So a year on it’s lost the gloop. Still stinks. Tart and full on bretty. Glorious.

Cuvée Saint-Gilloise 2021 2

Found this a little acidic on release. Well that’s not the case now. It’s bright and breezy still, with a bit of fust and stink. Rounding out good.

Now obvs aged Iris is where it’s at, but this is also where it’s at. Has an orange peel vibe among the oak and light new leather funk. Mouthfeel is stunning. Big on the Loon Factory twang to finish. Glad I picked up a shit load on last visit.

Birthday bev. Earthy fruity and lightly herbal. Had this at the loon factory as Camerise so a different vintage (2019). Seemed juicier then. Anyway it’s still top tier gear.

2022 cork. Couldn’t be arsed adding new vintages. Great gear. Super clean. Crisp fresh grape. Low acidity is a boon for me.

Lovely Sherry like character throughout. Looks a bit grim but overall it’s great.

Sweet grape and Cantillon funk. Easygoing on the acidity. Easy drinking gear.

Assemblage De L’amitié (2019) 2

Mineral and fresh cut oak. Tart and semi dry. Lovely nick.

Drogone Lambic (2022) 2

Yup. This is right how you’d want a fresh loon. Big juice. Bright funk. Clean and tart. Touch of salty hole (thanks Vin). Beautiful beer.

Mamouche (2016) 2

Father in law’s funeral today so felt fitting to pull something out of the ordinary. It’s holding up really good. Lots of cellar funk. Very floral. Decent oaky tartness. Cheers Terry 🍻

This is doing well. Low acidity but still nicely fruity. Nicely leathery sweaty funk.

Not dissimilar to the A&G Vintage I just necked. This is sweeter and maybe more tart. Either way it’s class.
