LC; night cap a while back after some Guinness pints at a local spot.

Bottled: 20 AUGUST 2018; after having a disappointing 2022 bottling yesterday, I figured this would be the best time to open the only other bottle of Fou I’ve had in my possession in the last decade; notably better than the fresh 2022; nose was my…

LC; Bottled on: 07.26.22–I knew what I was getting myself into. One word review: no.

Catchup. Gift to myself and an awesome treat to break into with the dudes. Tremendous condition. Carb, mouthfeel, fruit, acidity in balance.

Share with the dudes. Thank you so much for sharing, M O. Never thought I’d get to try this, let alone a 2015. Blind pour, had some great cherry notes - cinnamon, pits. Hints of raspberry but acidity was pretty mellow. Really well balanced and flavorful.

Yesterday. Thanks for sharing, M O. - stunning bottle conditioning & beautiful carb. Seedy raspberry jam nose and sturdy, deep funk; Soft carb with lingering earthy seed notes and long raspberry; I found this to be super mellow with minimal acid.

Bottled: 02.28.22 - I’ll take old school Founders Imperial Stout over this 10/10 times. Thinner than it should be; wet wood notes, Yoo-Hoo chocolate milk, espresso foam; can’t deny that it’s well constructed, can’t deny that this is a relic of the past.

LC; bottled 7.29.21; old coffee; lactose wasn’t distracting; didn’t love it.

LC; my least favorite KBS variant; cinnamon spice dominated for me and muted barrel character and other components. Felt a touch thin, too, but maybe I’m misremembering the base.

Bottled on 07.07.21; I’m skeptical of cocktail-inspired beers, & previous experiences w/Old Fashioned attempts have been lacking; I think it’s a difficult flavor combination to translate, & emulating the right combination of bitter, citrus, cherry, &…

LC; “best by” the year I turn 53. Couldn’t wait. Liked but didn’t love: musty oak woodiness & light vanillins; touch of green apple spice & elderflower orchard fruit suggestions. Basement minerality. Dry. These are always fun to try.

A&W Cream Soda w/brownies. Ender of a long afternoon. Least favorite of the three bottles I had, but also post Lambic, Lager, Scotch.

Bottled: 2.02.21; classic Founder’s construction: excellent carbonation, milkshake thick head & beautiful retention; adjunct & barrel treatment here are well-balanced with maple coming in third for me; sweet, vanilla-kissed chocolate-coffee w/just a...

Bottled: 12/22/20; something different here. Perhaps freshness lending a bold, acid-kissed coffee tinge. Likely my own revisionist thinking, but it feels...thinner. And I hate this sentiment: “Batch 1 was better!” - likely nonsense, but it is nevertheless

LC; am I doing this right? Straight into a 1L, one sip to confirm how disgusting and oxidized it is, then right down the drain? Okay, cool. Just wanted to be sure.
