North Country breakfast. Maple infused, and cinnamon and vanilla, blended into the Bastard double scotch ale. Might be a little early in the season; just means I’ll have to buy more.

Dogfish likes being diff’rent. This qualifies. Lime, grapefrui, strong and spritzy. I like it.

More chocolate than cherry, so not exactly cherry cordial. But KBS quality with some bourbon barrel vanilla sweetness.

Vanilla from the bourbon barrel up front. Boozy at the finish. A semi-proper märzen in between.

From yesterday. Stored four years in the big bottle. Chocolate, coffee, velvety. Part of Thanksgiving weekend dinner.

If you like coffee (I do), and you enjoy a good KBS (who doesn’t?), you’ll love this.

Big abv. Big ipa. So it’s a giant. The oat and wheat malt gives it a different aspect and mouthfeel.

I don’t particularly care for fruit beers; but Founders is making me a believer.

Strong vanilla notes up front. Strong abv is smoothed over by the barrel notes. No noticeable smokiness, but overall delicious.

The nutty flavor notes led me to the Nutella secret recipe. Coffee, chocolate, vanilla, bourbon, lactose sugar, maybe some wood chips, and voilà. Velvet.

This is incredible. Others feel the booziness. I do not. Sweet smooth strong and filling.

Roasty, malty, caramelly. Strong. Flavours are interesting, not very pronounced b

Holiday spicy, smooth vanilla, kbs specialty. My downer is the booziness.

Everyone says it’s like a margarita. True. Strong but not boozy. And all that agave makes it taste like a good Polish mead. This one with a little lime splash.

Ciekawe. Piłem to piwo w Warszawie w r. 2018. Oczywiście dobre było, i teraz już lepsze. Backyard fire at the parents. Oh, it’s a delicious stout.

All the oats make it smooth. And it has a soft mouthfeel. A fairly strong abv sneaks up through that. I like it quite a bit. But then I like all oat based beers.

So, Sam Adams didn’t do an Old Fezziwig this year. This 2019 spiced autumn/winter, then, does nicely.

Extraordinary. Velvety chocolate and coffee stout smoothly moderated with a maple backbone. Extraordinary.

Aging this three years improved it to peak quality. All the usual stout goodness plus maple. The high abv is smoothly blended in.
