Bourbon Barrel Aged Colossus

Barleywine - English

This is a true Colossus of a beer. An English-style Barley Wine brewed with the finest English malts and hops, and double mashed to maximize flavor and texture. Aged for 13 months in Heaven Hill Bourbon Barrels. The barrel aging gives complex notes of vanilla, coconut and charred oak, which layers on top of the beer’s flavor profile of dark fruit, tobacco and chocolate. A beer truly worthy of its name!

Sweet dark malty with lots of bourbon, chocolate and caramel, dark dried fruit shred, full body, bourbon kissed malty finish. Great stuff.

• backlog MBCC22 • recommended by Tom of Fremont • inspired by the Fremont style of BW • using of chocolate malts and Golding Hops • this is a roasted kind of Barley W and one of the best barrel aging I’ve had from a danish brewery

Lidt syrlighed i baggrunden. Rammer vist stilen godt.

Dejligt vådt Bourbon fad, mørke, tørrede frugter, læder i næsen, måske lidt Rom/rosin. Boozy, krydret og varmende. Jeg elsker den her øl. 4.4 i dag.

Ganske fornuftig.

Bad Seed Beer Fest! Absolute fave of the festival 🤓👌 As many has said before me, much in the vein of Fremont BW’s.. Lightly burned toffee, figs, muscovado & nice depth from the barrel & chocolate malts 🤤

LCI.Hair chest growing experience. Alas, there were no real layers of coconut, vanilla, charred oak but rather one, very pervasive flavor: bourbon. Alcohol, man! Lots of it. Watered down, charred bourbon. Felt more like an impy stout than a barleywine too
