RB backup. Jul 28 2015. Pours deep mahogany with beige head. Aroma is sweet dark fruits. Taste verges a bit far on the sweet side of a Belgian Dark Ale initially, but settles into familiar Chimay Bleu territory soon enough. Decent effort.

Clear dark reddish brown colour topped with a creamy beige foam. Sweet malty and fairly yeasty aroma of raisin, dades, vanilla, oak and spices. Full and rather vinous flavour of port, raisin, vanilla and alcohol.

[Backlog from Ratebeer, 2015] On tap. Thick aroma of malt, sugar and fruits. Taste is of malts, lots of darker fruits, vanilla, molasses & booze. Medium body and carbonation. Okay, I guess, but I didn’t love it. I think I expected a bit more body from it.
