American Dream

Lager - IPL (India Pale Lager)

American Dream has a hazy golden body with a medium off-white head. Packed with American hops, it is great for a hot summer day. Aromas of apricot, grapefruit and peach with flavors of Earl Grey tea, passionfruit and grapefruit.

[Backlog from Ratebeer, 2015] Pours hazy orange with a large white head. Taste is mainly of malt, caramel and lots and lots of hops. Very bitter, dry and drinkable - I can see how this would be good (read: dangerous) in the summer. :-)

Late check-in #3. Aside the American Dad graphics this was a good scoop

A lovely beer with plenty of teeth that tastes far bigger than a 4.6. Made light work of drinking this one.

Wow, big chewy fruity taste with a hint of caramel and a big finish. How is this only 4.6%? Would love a pint of this on draught one day ...

Bought this thinking I’d never had it before. Apparently I did in 2015! Oh well, it’s a decent enough repeat!

Uprating a tad. Still not great but chilling for a long time improves it.

Probably not really the right time of year for it. Not bad but would have liked a bit more excitement for the price.

Tastes a bit like watermelon, a bit hazy, it’s refreshing, also get pineapple hints as an after taste.

Seems appropriate today. Beautifully balanced and full bodied with great malt and hop profiles. Literally IPA as a lager. I'm having it with curry.

Loads of earl grey tea notes that I wasn’t really expecting. Peach. Grapefruit peel. A bit of resiny pine. Honey sweetness. Bitterness is medium-high and blends with the piney notes really nicely. Dry. Medium-low carbonation.

Smells a grapefruit/pine with some malt. Classic west coast nose. Easy drinking and nicely bslanced but not full enough to be a proper IPA. Still, a pretty decent beer.
