Chewy as hell, lots of licorice (too much), got some good heat despite some aging behind it. No way I could do more than 5 oz.

Strong and harsh, some sort of peppery finish, beer description names it licorice, but either way is somewhat strange. Per San Diego taproom the ABV is 14.9% ABV

Not sure if I like or dislike this. It’s rich, full-bodied and boozy which i like BUT it’s also extremely sweeeeet in the beginning and finishes with black coffee roasty bitterness. Gotta nurse this 18%… 3.85

Smells great! Loads of booze (SURPRISE!) and a lovely sweet raisin flavour wrestling with some liquorice. So far, so good - but then it gets bitter. Too bitter in the aftertaste for me. Keep drinking to avoid the aftertaste? Great plan…

Was not expecting such a sweet hit… After a while the temperature rose to help balance the sweetness, malt and alcohol levels all melted into a crazy unique hit….

Way too tummy warming - like 15.1 - very sweet and very whiskey barrel - could be a wee bit thinker and not so over the top sweet

Crazy bitter, SUPER roasty. Like a bad Starbucks coffee. But has kind of a chocolatey, syrupy sweet finish. Definitely extreme as far as beers go. That I've had, at least.

A sweet touch with a dark heavy roasted berry flavor and a caramel malty finish. Can’t taste the ABV that much.

Vintage 2007. Toffee and vanilla. Charcoal and dessert wine. Pretty much the best that this beer has ever been.

Epsiode backlog: 2019 edition. Looks beautiful. Aroma liqourice and vanille. Taste is the same with coffee notes in the end. The high ABV is a bit noisy though. Drink it with some friends!
