Maple, cinnamon, bourbon barrel aged, Scotch ale. What's not to like?

Happy 14th, Lake Flying Saucer! 14 rare beers on tap and I get to try 8 of them. This one smells like French toast, and sips like sweet, smooth maple syrup. Booze doesn't get you until you're already warmed up.

@foundersbrewing French Toast Bastard (11.1% ABV), bourbon barrel aged Scotch ale with maple and cinnamon. Maple flavor is forward. Surprisingly tasty. Sweet. Maple. Malty. #Craftbeer #beerpics #beerphoto #beer #stlouis

Absolutely phenomenal. Vanilla? ✔️ Cinnamon ✔️ Maple? ✔️ Not overly sweet, and none of the adjuncts are overdone, or outweigh the others. As is almost always the case, everything intensifies as it warms. I do wish there was a touch more barrel influence.

Boozy in the right way. Smells like a glazed cinnamon swirl doughnut.

Tastes like… French toast and maple syrup. So, a 10am beer it is! Hair off the dog for the Missus. Yeesh

Wow! The initial waft of syrup is delicious, then you taste it. STRONG! Packs a punch but hang in there and wait for all the richness of this brew to assail your senses, ending with a stringent burnt taste. Amazing

Fantastic as always! A lot of maple this time. Aged almost 4 years from its original release. Cheers to Rocky and the start to the holidays!
