the OG Backwoods Bastard is better. This is too mapley sweet for me. Hides the barrel I love way too much .

Cinnamon first, then breast/yeasty, then a touch of vanilla from the barrels. Maple syrup throughout. You can smell the maple syrup and cinnamon the moment you pop the top. Hint of coffee potentially but not much. Literally like French toast for breakfast

Great nose and flavor. Vanilla cinnamon maple syrup all around. Little oak and bourbon too. Great stuff. 4.35ish

Had a 4 ounce pour which was good. Really liked it but definitely don’t think could do much more. Would be too sweet.

I was hesitant when I saw that it had cinnamon in it but once I saw the word maple I had to buy it. A well-made big chewy beer but a touch too much cinnamon for my taste

Good flavor, but strong aftertaste, like maybe artificial vanilla?

Great fall beer. How do they get this to taste like French toast? I would drink this for breakfast. Plus it reminds me of that Motley song. Consider that Bastard dead! Bastard!

2022 Malty and rich bourbon barrel-aged Scotch ale is introduced to the essence of smooth maple, warm cinnamon and notes of sweet vanilla for an incredibly decadent brunch-inspired sipper.

Smells just like French toast covered in maple syrup and booze. So the perfect brunch drink.

Way better warmer (“basement” temp). More nuanced flavors come out. Barrel more apparent in the finish. I still think the adjuncts could be dialed back a click, but I’ll be damned if this isn’t the most French Toast-like beer I’ve had. Great aroma, too.

Hits my nose like maple syrup. Sadly it tastes artificial.

Yep, that's French toast. Unfortunately way too sweet, to the point it's practically undrinkable.

Definitely one of the sweetest French toast styles I’ve had but the bourbon flavor is a wonderful compliment. Gets sweeter with every sip

Cinnamon & maple up front, deep rich maltyness with full body and a hint of vanilla in the finish. Great sipping beer!

A lot better once it warms a tad. Smells amazing. I could use a bit less asjuncts and more barrel.
