A little overly sweet. Should be a little thicker. Candied barleywine-like. Aroma of a caramel cinnamon candy. Cheers to 255 lbs on the chesties

Smells like a yankee candle, in a good way. Maple, cinnamon, and vanilla all present. 1st 6 ounces is tasty but the last 6 ounces is a bit taxing.

Founders never disappoints with their barrel-aged beers! The smell of this was amazing, and the taste was quite great too! How fun!

I wanted to like this more, but think the flavors would be better in a stout. Very strong and sweet, I seemed to like it less the more I drank - regular Backwoods is a lot better.

Alcohol level aside, my husband and I are in love. When my friend let me sample it, I raised my hands and praised the Lord. Please shake the brewer's hand for us if you go to this brewery.

Well … they did it. Tasted like I was drinking a stack of liquid french toast! Cinnamon, maple sweetness (like extra-buttery syrup sweet!) Even has a bready-pastry vibe. Buddy the Elf might even O.D. on this beer!

Maple forward, Porter like in body. Boozy in finish. Might change if warmer but worried might become too sweet.

2022 release. Last time I had this was as part of the mothership series. Just as good as I remember.

Absolutely horrible! Sickly sweet syrup and cinnamon. They ruined a perfectly good Backwards Bastard to make this! 🤮

Smells fantastic! It’s borderline too sweet with the barrel character lost in the adjuncts. The body also seems thin compared to BWB but I’d have to do a side by side. I’ll lay one down for Christmas and age the other two to see if it evens out.
